Fort Point Lighthouse, July, 1998
The Fort Point Lighthouse, built in 1855, is the 4th oldest surviving lighthouse in Nova Scotia. No longer functioning as an aid to navigation, it is now the main attraction of the Fort Point Lighthouse Park. A self guided tour is available, including a visit to the lantern room.
I had a fantastic time when we visited this lighthouse in the summer of 1998. The rocks outside the lighthouse were fun to climb around, and provided interesting views of the building. The park grounds are well kept, and add to the beauty of this attraction.
