Low Point Lighthouse

New Victoria, Nova Scotia

Low Point Lighthouse

Low Point Lighthouse, August, 1998

The Low Point Lighthouse was established in 1932 on a point just outside Sydney Harbour.

This lighthouse is accessible by road, but I haven't been fortunate enough to make a visit yet.  I did see the lighthouse, though, from the ferry on the journey from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland in the summer of 1998.  It is easy to see where the name Low Point comes from, and it's easy to imagine the battering that this lighthouse can take in a storm.
