Caveau Point Rear Range Lighthouse

Cheticamp, Nova Scotia

Caveau Point Rear Range Lighthouse

Caveau Point Rear Range Lighthouse, July, 1998

The Caveau Point Rear Range Lighthouse and the companion front range light were built in 1897.   The wooden structure front range has been removed and replaced by the steel skeleton structure which is typical of range lights in Atlantic Canada.

The lighthouse is at the northern end of Cheticamp on the Cabot Trail.  It sits on private property in a backyard.  I accessed it by walking up a driveway and asking permission to get up to the building.  In a show of typical Maritime hospitality, I was welcomed to do so.
