Background:
QuakeWorld is a new, Internet-only version of Quake!! Best of all, it is a Win32 program with DirectX support that runs under Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.51 or higher. Its frame rate seems to be higher than the normal Quake's, but I'm not sure of that. It was desigened for low-lag, 32-player Internet games.
You need Quake to run it, so go to my Quake page to download Quake. The original QuakeWorld (1.25) was released December 17th, 1996, and the new version, 1.64, was released June 13th, 1997.

Hints:
There isn't much I can say to help other than to practice. However, here are some hints: Use a three-button mouse. Set the left button to fire, middle button to strafe, and the right button to jump. Add a +mlook to your autoexec.cfg so when you move the mouse, you look up and down or move side to side.
To reduce lag, make use of the pushlatency command. To do this, first press TAB to see your ping. Next, press ~ to go to the console and set the pushlatency value to opposite your ping. For example, if your ping is 350ms, type pushlatency -350 and press ENTER.
Hope these help you...
