Ancient Towers Valley view
Train runs on narrowv valley bottom, under ancients ruined towers. A Pedestrian bridge for tourist allows towers visit, from near Neustadt city. The divide line that you can view between rocks is the removable panel limit. These panels have hinges on upper side, so one can simply open it by pushing, like a car bonnet. The Mountain can contain easily a person under hits surface, for manteinance operations under the layout : many tracks pass under tunnels in this point. A. Gravel train is composed with Lima. Marklin and Faller gravel cars.
Alpine Riggenbach-Rail View
Here we are on high point of layout. Narrow Edelweiss train, with 2 freight vagons is climbing on 28% , 280mm radius mountain track. Electric line is a single steel wire(airplane models) and it is DC powered. Next Obersteg alpine station has 2 transit tracks, 2 park tracks, 1 little workshop for electric locos. On upper side , you can see the highest point of the layout : a little chapel : here you are at 270 cm. on room floor!
Latest Constructions...
This is most-recent layout side. To complete it, I'm build rear mountains : on squared holes movable panels will be placed. With this metod, you can reach any point from bottom and observer can have a 360° panoramic view : if you are on control panel , you are surrounded from layout. The electric loco workshop is a self-build wooden costruction from my uncle Silvano; He make it from my free design. It covers 5 tracks : using 10 electrical different insulated tracks, it offers 5 covered plus 5 uncovered places for electric locos.
This narrow-radius stoned bridge is acces for wood industry on rear - left side of plants. Bridge can rotate to allows access under layout , to reach rear parts. Front bridge allows trains to overpass operating space , to complete another layout ring.
As you can undestand, I preefer run my models than see it fixrear a glass :-)
