NX-04 Atlantic Sim

Welcome to the NX-04 Atlantic Sim.  We are a group of Star Trek enthusiasts who gather weekly to 'sim' or role-play as characters onboard the latest Warp-5 starship from Earth.  Each week, our Captain will present the group with a scenario, presenting information and problems to be solved.  The crew must then work together in order resolve the situation.

We do this live, every Saturday at 9:30pm on our Internet Relay Chat (IRC) server, MagicStar, in the room known as #startrek.  In order to participate, you require an IRC client program, such as mIRC or Pirch, and enter our server via linuxguy.magicstar.net, port 6667.  Such programs can be downloaded for free from many sources. 

Each sim begins with a briefing, where the initial plot is revealed.  As each player acts out his/her role, more is learned through the crew's interactions.  For example, an unknown vessel may appear on the ship's sensors.  Each player carries out actions indictative to their character's position on the crew.  An engineering officer tends to the ship's engines and systems, or a helmsman 'steers' the ship. 

As the sim progresses each week, players add more to their characters, sharing their experiences, opinions, and goals.  Over time, characters may be promoted or transfered to other duties.  Our style of simming allows for much free-lancing.  If this sounds like fun to you, then join us for the adventure.
