The Tournament
Quick Note: My writting does get better! Please don't let these earlier, facts only stories get you disinterested...
We are currently in a tournament, with both our Heroe's and Palladium guys in it. You fight until one surrenders or death, the only way you will be resurrected is if you went from S.D.C. straight to death. If you're in H.P.'s then you must either surrender or keep fighting with a chance of never seeing your character again. (bummer). I'm playing the "Metal Juggernaut" (Heroe's guy with alter physical structure Metal, advanced sight, and Energy expulsion: Fire), and of course Lancelot. None of us in the group have any intention of winning the tournament unless we get really lucky, because there are very, very, powerful things in it, including invulnerable guys and robots. The rules are: no heavy explosives, and no "cheap" magic or psionics. The first round hasn't started yet, we just made it in to the tournament a little while ago, and our G.M.'s in Canada until Sunday I believe. We don't even know who's in the tournament exactly... Just general hints I suppose. The tourny is unseated, it will be totally random, and it is single elimination. Knowing my luck my first battle will be against Xy. :), (no, he's not in the tourny, that would be ridiculous)
June 23, 1997 - We got the First Round of the Tournament done today, and a lot of unhappy P.C.'s went home today also. In fact, only 3 advanced to the second round out of 10! Some tough battles, you better believe it. Here are the Losers of the tournament. These guys have been eliminated in the first round: Jack the Ripper, Billy, The Robot Sheriff, Demon Magot, Debbie Lou, Scree, Linda Belamche, Ki, Tol-Crac the Smasher, Antipator, Bud, Cra, Big Gobbler, Polt the Baal-rog, The Entity, Ingus the Incubus, Mikey, Little Foobie, Rassamm the Gargoyle, "Glorioso" Iron Eagle, Lila Alret, Pyt the Basilisk, The mysterious "Ship Captain", The Metal Juggernaut - My Guy :(, William Wallace - Wallace's guy :(, Sir Garland - Sir Garlands guy :(, Poltergeist - Sir Garland's other guy :(, Lancelot - My other guy :(, The Dark Rider - Ishan's guy :(, Rand - Sir Edricks guy :(, Diablo the Sowhi, and Secrum the Succubus. So my and Sir Garlands guys are completely eliminated from the tournament after the first round.
Well, a little about my battles, the first one was with the Metal Juggernaut vs. The Defender (Sir Edrick)
What a lousy way to start the tournament, this battle took way too long because of my AR. of 17, but I could do little damage, and he had an AR of 13 but did in the 50's or so each time he hit. Well he finally ended up winning, but only after a $26000 repair bill. (His exoskeleton armour). Good luck to him in the future.
Lancelot got a bummer of a battle, he fought against Komodo, who looks like a samari warrior. We fought in a gym. Well the first thing I did was fly up to the ceiling figuring he couldn't hit me, because one hit and I would most likely have to surrender. (Very little SDC and armour sucks) So I did that and then he starts shooting lightning at me! arg. Well it was all down hill from there.
Round 2: I'll have round 2's defeated posted here soon, but to our surprise all 3 P.C.'s that advanced to round 2 also advanced to round 3.
Well Round 3 is finished and 1 of our remaining P.C.'s (Drog the Destroyer) lost to Quo, So round 4 is up next with only 8 (out of the original 64) people left in it. The Defender, Rashidi, and 6 other N.P.C.'s
A little bit about the Defender since he's is not on the page elsewhere:
Heroes: The Defender is controlled by Sir Edrick, and is a robot with Mach 1 capabilities, and A.R. of 13, and I believe 500 or so S.D.C. He boasts retractable blades, the ability to see throughout most of the spectrum of Light, and an outrageous P.S. of 58. He has plus 10 to parry, and dodge, and plus 3 to strike. He's been known to substitute hand-cuffs, for just twisting metal ladders around his opponents. He's also been known for the large loans he has to take out to keep his robot functioning properly. Thanks to the help of the "Dark Rider" he's been able to get his armour repaired fairly cheaply, with only buying the needed parts. He's probably in debt about $50,000 right now, after all, crime fighting isn't the best paying job in the market. He's considering taking up a part time job as a M.D. at the local hospital, at least that way he'll still get to see a lot of his comrades :). His list of victories include the The Fearsome, "Metal Juggernaut" (my guy :)), a Wooly Dragon, and Rhinok. Outside of his Power Armour the defender is just an everyday guy like the rest of us, but villains beware for the man in the sky is not a bird, plane, or even superman, but the "Defender" of justice and all that is right.
Well I was gone at work for the next couple of rounds, so I really don't know to much about the battles, but both Rashidi and the Defender advanced to the final round of the tournament and will have to fight each other. Which is the strongest P.C. / RPG game. Only time will tell....
The final round was fought, The Immortal Rashidi vs. The Robotic Powerhouse Defender. It was the closest battle I had ever seen. And the winner was.... (drum roll please) the Defender by an Auto Mag. Rashidi breathed fire through his helmet at the defender for most of the melees and the Defender always counterstriked. (Rashidi has mass bonuses to Parry) Well Rashidi was down to one more really good hit would kill him, and the defender was sitting pretty with 120 S.D.C. Rashidi decided to take the chance and as it worked out Rashidi ended up ripping that robot apart bringing in to utter uselessness by depleteing it's S.D.C. The Defender got out of his pilots compartment, and Rashidi breathed fire into the Defender but the Defender counterstriked with unloading his Auto Mag. Bringing Rashidi to under H.P.s which rendered him unable to fight. The defender was offered a chance to be a warrior of the Gods which he accepted, and Rashidi still travels with us. He has 8 golf ball size holes in him, making him a bigger freak then ever :)
