I fell into graphic design on my way out of college. I moved to New Orleans with no job and little money, with the intent of sleeping on my good friend Kari's floor until I got my feet under me. Well, I soon had a job at a printing company creating the camera-ready versions of newsletters and flyers, political mailers and letterhead galore. Not a very sexy job, and, even when my paychecks managed not to bounce, not a very good-paying one either. So I quit and hopped over to Kinko's where I got a lot of practice using Pagemaker, Photoshop, Quark and lots of other goodies. Once I'd bled Kinko's dry (just kidding, I really liked working there, actually), I moved over to LSU Medical School here in New Orleans where I am the assistant to a fabulous designer, Steve Radcliffe. We create a good chunk of the printed material that comes out of the medical school, and it's been a fascinating experience working with a real designer and artist like Steve. So this web page is an experiment to see how much I like making graphics for the web.
