Xavier LeRenard

Private Xavier LeRenard of the Dragoon Guards fell fighting the enemies of France while serving as a volunteer with the 2nd Frontier Regiment in May 1621. From LP's eulogy:

Not all of you may remember Xavier LeRenard. Despite being wounded in last year's brutal summer campaign, he spent the last nine months at the front serving God and France. LeRenard fought for neither fame nor fortune. Perhaps this is the reason he was never mentioned in dispatches and never promoted. He was a true career private, and you new members of the Dragoon Guard should learn from his example.
