Additional News: October 20

Hiya everyone! As you may have heard by now, SkyeFyre got married and ran off, so I usurped her throne in her absence and have taken over.

Skye's done an excellent job of keeping up cool events and activities, and I have every intention of doing the same. I've named Aideen our new Event Coordinator, so she can keep me in line with all of that. I have some new and some old activity ideas, but I think we'll finish off the contests we have going and the picnics first.

I only have a few things to announce. I will, of course, be keeping Altarial and Aelina as my Firstmages.

And everyone welcome SkyeFyre as our coolest Master of Tempus and Spectra!

Last, but certainly not least, I'd like to announce one more promotion. This person has spent hours on end helping, pushing, and encouraging us. For everything that he has done, particularly in light of recent events, sacrifices, and services to the guild, I am happy to announce Jaxom as our newest double Eternal.

Breaking News Coverage: October 20

I've had the most fun with you all these past few months and I wouldn't trade them for the world but I'm on my way out door for good so I'll get right down to business!

New Members

I'd like you all to welcome Taliesin as our new Mage of Constellations! Many of you have already met him but for those of you that haven't he's kind of a space case so I'm pretty sure he'll fit right in.

Member of the Month

Our member of the month is still Schnee_Gott and for those of you that didn't get the memo his theme and challenge to you all this month is 'Random Acts of Niceness'. How creatively can you use your magical skills to brighten someone's day? Send your niceties to Schnee and we'll see who's tops come month end. I also don't think we've heard back from Mr_Man yet who won the 'Loser's Battle' theme from last month.

Events and Activities

There's one other big promotion that I'm sure a lot of you are still wondering about. Well, I handed the staff over to Cadence this morning. Everyone go congratulate your new Archmage! I think his turn to serve in office is way past due and I for one am really looking forward to seeing him in action now that he's finally got the chance to show his stuff. I know he'll have tons of fun, creative, and educational things for all us magii to do in the coming months and I hope you're all looking forward to it as much as I am.

Now we can all look forward to the Ex-Archmage party and the New Archmage picnic! I'm voting for sometime early this week for the Ex-Archmage party but we'll have to ask Cadence when a good time would be for the new Archmage picnic. Chavaira's 'Everyday Magic' contest is still going strong, and I'm still waiting on miss Kalid for her Magiidive votes. Any day now people.

In Other News

Alastair will be stepping down as Events Coordinator to devote his full attention to the newly reformed Red Guard. The vacant position will be filled as soon as Caddy decides who best he thinks can do the job I imagine. Anyone interested in joining magii's new defensive squad, The Red Guard, should speak with Alastair. I've already posted a list of current members on the website for those of you that are curious. I'm also going to be starting a new contest at the Ex-Archmage party to help beef up our protection with defensive spells. I'll give you more details as I work them out.

And the biggest news bulletin? Jaxom and I got married yesterday! The good Parson Brown who was constructed in the Sleeping Room with the help of Teague and Jacko was kind enough to preform the service for us. We'll be going on our honey moon to Marshmallow Mountain as soon as I finish up with the paperwork here! Woohoo! I'm a Mrs!

Welcome to your FIRST October Newsletter. That's right, I intend to put out two this month because there has been so much going on lately and a number of people that are just this close to a promotion but not quite there yet. I'm also still waiting on the results from Magiidive and I'm sure we're all anxious to hear who won Mr_Man's 'Loser's Battle' theme contest. So, onto our first order of business.

Member of the Month

Schnee_Gott is our newly elected drunkard for October, so he deserves double congratulations! I'm sure you are all just as eager to hear what his monthly challenge will be as I am! Don't keep us waiting Schnee!

Events and Activities

Magiidive is over and the votes are being tallied, but just in time to give you something new to do Chavaira has announced the 'Everyday Magic' contest. Don't forget to send her (and your Archmage) accounts of how you creatively use your talents in everyday ways. Dueling isn't the only way to show your stuff! There is no limit to the number of entries you can send in and contestants will be judged against others of their own rank.

We also have the Ex-Archmage party and the New Archmage picnic coming up later this month and Aelina is collecting gifts for both. The gifts, I assume, will be handed out at the respective events so get with the Buggity now if you have something to offer.

In Other News

For those of you that don't know, Jaxom has been successfully traded for Eamane. There was a note left for us which appeared to be written from his own flesh and blood. Cadence led a small number of us in an assault on the temple the other day but sadly it was unsuccessful. Now more than ever I think it is urgent that we learn about and make use of the Pallantia in hopes of bringing Jaxom safely back to us.

Some of you may have recently noticed sparkling, purple, pieces of chalk floating around the tower. Our precious pixie has really cooked something magical up this time! The next time you visit the tower take a trip to the Lounge and grab one of those little pieces of chalk. (If there aren't any in the lounge you can get one from Nanny's component shop.) Now wield your chalk and draw on slate and see what happens! Of course if the magic door is already open you needn't go through all that. Then thank the pixie! Thank her with many precious coins.

In other news, Masson used his spiffy specialty and found Istas' mind so we won't have any more killer cake to look forward to at our next picnic. I know you're sad. Some of you didn't even get to try it.

And speaking of events, Magiidive is still going strong so if you haven't found a partner already get out there and grab someone! Al, Kalid, and I will be keeping an eye out for you!

Also, keep in mind that Mr_Man's 'Loser's Battle' theme is still in effect for another week or so. If you haven't met his challenge yet now is the time!

It's been a while magelings but here we are again, adventuring through another newsletter. We all got a bit quiet for a few months but now there's actually stuff to announce so have fun reading all about it!

There's a few other members that are getting pretty close to another promotion too so don't give up yet if you're working on it!

Member of the Month

In other news, Mr_Man has been elected by his magely peers as September's Member of the Month! Don't forget to congratulate him! And in recognition of his recent activity within the guild in regards to both duels and ideas I'm putting his monthly themed duels into effect effective immediately. I'll be tying it to the Member of the Month so if you get voted in that's just one more thing to look forward to, getting to pick the dueling theme for the month!

Mr_Man will be the sole judge for the month's winner so send your themed duels his way but don't forget to send to your Archmage and Firstmages too so we know what you're up to! So for all you dueling fiends out there here's what he'll be looking for in your duels this month.

This month's dueling theme is what Mr_Man refers to as a losers battle. The rules go as follows:

1 - No Auto Hitting.
2 - You are primarily being judged on how interestingly you get hit by your opponents attack. Purely dodging or reflecting the attack is frowned upon. You don't have to be damaged by the attack but do something interesting with the attack you are given.
3 - Even though you are being judged on how interestingly you are hit if your attacks aren't something fun then you are being unfair to the other dueler, so make sure those are awesome too.

Events and Activities

Welcome to the first annual Magiidive! During the rest of this month those of you that wish to participate need to find a willing partner. You and your partner will have to decide which of will be the flinger and which will be the faller. Basically it will be one person's job to fling their partner into the heavens and the other person's job to fall and then land (hopefully without murderizing yourself) in the most creative way the two of you can think up. You may theme your individual parts so they mesh together or not as you see fit.

Magiidive entries should be preformed in the presence of one of the events judges. The judges are Kalid, Alastair, and myself. All entries should be sent by the judge who is present to the two who are not present. If you are interested in participating please let Alastair know. He'll take the name of you and your partner and make sure Kalid and I are informed about who to keep an eye our for. It might be hard nailing down Kalid to be present but she'll be more than happy to see all the fun we're getting up to, I'm sure!

In Other News

The recent tragedy of torko's death has effected us all. He was a wonderful advisor and teacher who put a great deal of work into this guild. We owe him more than I can say. He will be sorely missed.

I'm all for the idea of erecting a statue in his honor though I can't recall who it was that first suggested the idea. I also wish to hear more from Morganza about the plan she has put into action and how we can help her. If more was said past that she needed our help I missed it entirely and need a refresher.

Newsletter away!

We've seen a little more activity this last month which we should all be happy about and if we manage to get our banquet underway sometime this month I'm sure this month will be no different!

That brings me to my first item of business, not a single person voted for Member of the Month this month so I get to pick! Yay! Be sure to congratulate Robyn and help her out if you are so inclined as I expect she still has a lot of stuff yet to do in regards to our upcoming party.

It's that time again!

Your faithful Archmage is cranking out this month's newsletter. Yeehaw!

While I, and I'm sure a good number of you, have been very pleased to see a increase in magii comings and goings I'm sad to say that there are precious few promotions being given out this month. Hopefully with our upcoming events we'll see an even greater surge in MIF activity and be able to kick this thing into high gear.

So without any further ado, I would first like to welcome Sahar into the MIF as Mage of Water and secondly welcome back Tationie and Anstella who are both returning to our family after short periods of separation. Tati will be reassuming her position of Mage of Flora and Stella Mage of Wind.

Now as for those promotions I was talking about. I know you all want to know who you'll be congratulating. Well here they are:

That's right, it's the NEWSLETTER!

I'm still trying to sort all this muddled MIF business out so please bear with me for a little while. I'm working on getting the webpage updated along with a ton of other Archmagely duties. The good news is that I've appointed two Firstmages and I intend to put them to good use!

In my understanding Firstmages are meant to be an Archmage's closest friends and most trusted advisors. While in truth some of my top choices are unable to fill the role of Firstmage because of their rank as Eternal I am certain that they will still be more than willing to offer advice and guidance throughout my term as Archmage because that is what Eternal's do best. I conducted interviews with several worthwhile guild members over the past few days and finally came to choose Altarial and Aelina as my Firstmages. It was no easy choice, and woud that could, I'd have half a dozen Firstmages. I am confident that I made the best choice but should time and experience prove otherwise and either one of my Firstmages is unwilling or incapable of fulfilling their duties I have no issue with finding someone better suited to the task. We are here to better our beloved guild, our family, and we must do so at all cost.

Your newly appointed Archmage will be making a brief pilgrimage to the mountains (Going to Yosemite for Birthday vacation! (Nobody kill me.)) to contemplate the coming term. I have full faith in Altarial and Aelina and their ability to keep things running smoothly during my short retreat. Should anything simply disasterous happen both of them know how to reach me.

And now for the fun part!

Please welcome London and Lena as our newest mages! London's specialty is Obscurity and Lena's is Earthly Things. Congratulate them in the typical MIF fashion... just don't scare them too much.

Exciting news for those of you that didn't know! Our very own Chavaira announced that I was voted Archmage this afternoon! I've been conducting interviews in hopes of finding the best people to serve as my Firstmages and intend to have them appointed within the next day or two, though I still have to speak with a few more people before I make the decision. Hopefully they will be on in the next couple of days!

Other fun news: I'm reactivating the Member of the Month so send your vote in for the person you think most deserves it! That's all for now!
