Links awakening dx

 If you have't played Links Awakening before then you're  in for a huge treat.
This little game rewards exploration and discovery with hundreds of little surprises in much the same way as its big brother.
Indeed you should be able to redognise the style of the puzzles,the music,the sound effects and plenty of characters and simillar locations to Ocarina of Time ( although this game is based on the island of Koholint, which Link discovered after being shipwrecked and washed ashore on one of its beaches.)
  Some believed that the original Links Awakening was better than the Snes version and to some extents they were right. In terms of depth the game more closely resembles the N64 incarnation, for example instead of having to collect Gold Skulltulas you will tear your hair out trying to find the fiendishly hidden secret seashells that are hidden throughout the island.

     dx advantages
This new DX version takes advantage of the Game boy Color's palette, with its new colour based puzzles ( present in the new colour dungeon, which in typical Nintendo fashion is infuriatingly hard to find) The other major addition is the new collectables that come in the form of photos. At certain points in the game link can get people to photograph him. These photos can then be taken to the new camera shop and printed on the pocket printer, a novel touch. There are 12 photos to find and almost all of them will take hours to find. Still you cant call the game finished untill you've got every single one!! Having already completed the game we could tell you what you get for beating the new color dungeon but we won't! Instead you'll have to wait for the guide that will be released soon on this fantastic little site!
 

If you can't get hold of The Legend of Zelda on the N64
or if youve whizzed through it at a double quick time this is the next best thing.
It really is that good. However if you have got the original then I do not think we can recommend
it so highly as there are not enough significant changes to warrant it as an essential purchase.
Still it is a cracking little game which in color is even better than it was on its release in 1993!
