Matt was hatched as a pixie, it is the physical form he is in. His mother, Moonshade was a moon sprite and he had no father. Matt was created when Moonshade's power got too great for the little sprite body to handle and she magical reproduced. Moonshade had been making plans to affect the life and destiny of evil queen Ragasha's son Knightwind. When her power created Matt, it took some of her magic, making her less powerful and she reacted in haste. Moonshade put a spell on the evil faerie prince that would allow him to be neutral in alignment and she kidnapped him.
Moonshade took Knightwind to Ayenee where she laid her egg, and had Knightwind help to care for Matt as he grew, knowing this would help the evil prince gain more of a heart. It wasn't long before they ran into a man named Deekin Knightwind. He had a conversation with Moonshade, which Matt heard through the link he had with his mother. Deekin knew Moonshade was about to wake up the sleeping city of Shambala and get the Slayer armors for herself, Knightwind and Matt. He asked her not to do that and said he was from the future, after all he was a Time Warrior. Moonshade believed Deekin and didn't wake the city, saying she would wait longer. She already had the DragonSlayer armor, the one ment of the king and she gave it to Knightwind, and dubbed him Rayven.
The four of them traveled around, a mother and baby, and two warriors. Moonshade would tell everyone they met that Rayven was Deekin's little brother, though she knew Deekin was really Rayven's son from several centuries into their future. They went on grand adventures and got into trouble here and there.
When Matt was only 15 and had not developed any powers yet, he was captured by the Amazon Nation and held for a few nights before his mother, Deekin, and Rayven managed to get him out. The Amazon Queen at the time was a beautiful woman called Marci. Marci had found the young warrior, Matt to be interesting and went after him again. Now we all know how Love likes to mess with our hearts and heads right? Well these two fell in love. What Matt and Marci had wasn't just a passing little love. It was the true thing, that once in a life time, move mountains, shake earth kind of love. Matt left the group he traveled with and became Marci's king even.
