A Message to the Reader
This story of course is sort of an upgrade from my in progress 'The Seven Secrets of Sonrand'. This story has nothing to do with that 'test' manuscript. If you have read some of The Seven Secrets story you will notice some of the original characters are in this story. They all have totally different backgrounds and weapons, but I wanted to use them for this tail. The world is much large, and vaster, I will be writing a walkthrough and character statistics later on but I wanted to get a little into the story first. I was thinking if this story works out and I finish it, I will start another in this series, it will have nothing to do with this one but it will have a plot similar to this, I hope you enjoy.

The Shimmer Sticks
The Prologue: The Ancients of Cenara and the Day of the Coming
____________________________________________________
***9999 AR
Over the vast lands of trees, water falls, and snow capped mountains, onto the Eastern Continent, then known as the land of Tesoran.
Deep in the green foliage of Cenara Willows, small blue birds, tills, could be heard chirping joyously. A light breeze rustled the long flexible willow vines. Through the grove of Cenara Willow trees and out onto a large area closed off by tree there sat a large temple along with many small shops and houses made from the same musty yellow rock as the temple. Over a winding dirt path into the village, along a cobblestone walk into a well decorated house of many finely woven quilts and colorful tapestries.
A young man in fine white and red ceremonial robes sat in his study at a desk with a quill in his hand.
Wa'drea was hunched over his journal in his study, he wiped sweat from his brow as the small study seemed to cool down from the midday heat, the sun was almost set in the east, it would soon be time. This day would be the most exciting and amazing day in his mortal life and in many others. He knew the reason for this amazing day, also everyone in the village did along with the plants and animals. Wa'drea sat back for a moment, his robes were a bit dusty he brushed them off and went back to his journal. Suddenly a tap came at the door of his study.
"Pardon me asking, who is it?" Wa'drea asked.
The door opened and a tall slender man with long blonde hair, much the opposite of Wa'drea stepped in, "Hello my dear friend!" the man cried with a smile on his face, it was Wa'drea's best friend Devran.
"Ah, Devran, and how are you this wondrous day?" Wa'drea asked kindly.
"Oh I am very well, today is the day of all days in many." he smiled.
"Yes I know what you mean, we the Cenara shall repeat history just like our proceders, I am very glad to be alive, on this day!" he stood from his desk.
Devran brushed his blue and white robes, he looked up, "Soon my friend, soon. I came here to tell you that you must be at the temple in an hour."
"Thank you, I had lost track of time, I must get prepare further, I shall see you there, take care." they bowed and Devran left silently.
Wa'drea sighed and looked out the window, the sun was gone, the blue sky replaced with thousands of stars and planets. He went back to his journal and finished the last sentence then signed it. He picked the book up and readit to himself.
(The journal of Wa'drea the Master Summoner)
Today is a day of all days that shall be remembered and recorded in the books of time to be kept for all humanity to find and read. This wondrous day I am feeling very excited for the day that I should finally use my true skills for a worthy cause, very worthy indeed! I cannot yet accept that I am one out of very few who have ever performed the task so great. Truly my name with others shall go down in history. This shall be the ultimate test of my skills, if I fail humanity and every living creature on the Planet shall die. I still cannot grasp the thought of me wielding so much power and force, I feel that for an instant I shall obtain true immortality.
This task is an amazing one but I know that I shall achieve our goal for I have the power of Rah guiding me.
My dear friend Devran has helped me with my studies, I shall achieve this goal. The Cenara's task is great, every ten thousand years the sun draws closer to the Planet for an instant, in that instant, this earth heats up to amazing temperatures, which with out a doubt if it wasn't for us the Planet would dye and become just another asteroid belt soaring endlesly through space. We also face another problem, deep with in the Planet float three Shimmer Sticks, these are amazing treasures of the Planet which we the Cenara wish to keep preserved. When ever the Shimmer Sticks get hit with tempratures hotter than the Planet's core they start to exspand and contract, this causes the Planet to cease it's endless spin on the axis and in that instant as the Planet starts to heat up the Planet loses gravity and the moon which orbits our Planet has an increaseed advantage and it's slight amount of garvity starts to tug on the Planet along with our sun's gravity pulling from the other side, this causes the Planet to be open along the center of the world, from pole to pole. In those brief seconds, this allows the Shimmer Sticks to be seen, they rise from the core and float in the utermost brilliance. It is said that the Shimmer Sticks give off the most beautiful array of colors.
Our job is to hold everything in place as the gravity fades and cool the land as the sun nears, and stabalize th Planet as it strains, it is said that it is imposibble to keep the world from tearing open but we make sure it doesn't get to big and shatter the Planet altogether.
There are many summonings that I must call forth to protect against this threat, I shall be exhausted afterwards, after you perform a summoning you are almost out of breath, and tonight at one minute before the year one thousand I shall call forth the three mightiest magical beings that have ever existed on the terestrial field, in the end I shall be rewarded well.
Wa'dea (Master Summoner of the Cenara, praisal
god, Rah)
As Wa'dea set the journal down the symphony of crickets started. Wa'dea stood and walked over to the open window, he looked up at the sky and checked the moon, it was almost at it's peak. He thought to himself, I should get going, he walked into his room and unlocked a drawer on a small nightstand he retrieved his book of summon spells and placed it under his right arm and left his house for the temple.
The cool night air was a great change from the very hot midday they had today. Torches burned endlessly along the cobblestone path leading to the temple, the night sky was painted a beautiful deep blue. The moon cast an errie glow over everything, and the stars watched over everyone.
Wa'dea stopped infront of the temple and bowed before he touched the stairway leading up to the entrance, he stepped quietly up the stairway and stopped at the entrance, he bowed and entered the temple, they called the huge temple The Temple of the Cenara. The small corridors were litup with huge torches. Wa'dea walked silenltly through the endless coridors and antechambers until he came into a large chamber with all of the elders and noble men of the village.
"Ah Wa'dea, we were waiting for." an old man with a gruf voice sitting in a huge throne replied.
"I am, very, very sorry, I pray your forgivness Mediator." Wa'dea replied in a loud, strong voice. He walked through the center of the noble men, they all sat on the floor on cushions, there was an isale between them he walked across the room and stopped at the the throne, he bowed to the Mediator and took his place beside Devran.
"It is good to see you here." Devran whispered, he smiled at Wa'dea under his tall blue head peice, it had a yellow star on the front signifying him as a Time Mage, infact Devran was the Master Time Mage of the Cenara. His job was to give us more time, that means it won't be just mere seconds it shall be minutes, as long as we need because it would greatly be impossible to complete our castings and my summonings in just seconds, but if we did not add time the Planet would be destroyed.
The old Mediator stood and raised his hands, "Tonight is the night of all nights in many, we shall rewittness our ten thousand year old ancestors have wittnessed, this will be the comeing spectacle that all will remember! We shall begin at once!" he stepped down from his throne along with two Priests also known as White Mages, they posses great healing abilities, incase somebody gets injured in the prosses we would need them back immediatly, so the Priests play a large role in this also. As Devran and Wa'dea stepped down the many noble men or monks folowed closely behind. They all silently stepped up a set of stairs that led to the top of the temple, once outside on the top two Master Calculators and one Master Astronomer started making preparations to where the sun shall appear after an hour The Ceremony of Materia could begin.
Wa'dea was kneeled down infront of everybody, they all were facing in the same direction, to where the sun would appear. Wa'dea set his book of summonings down and started to quietly chants out words in the speech, the speech is the tongue of the Materia based beings. Small glimmer but very bright 'glimmers' surounded Wa'dea as he chanted.
As the night went on it started to warmer and warmer, it started to get iregularily bright, the sky looked amazing though the sun and moon could be seen from anywhere. Special torches and candles that burned green flame were now set around the group of people. Suddenly it got very hot, the monks could have screamed it was so hot but they did not, there was a loud rumbling then a noise greater then any ever heard erupted in the distance, a sizzling started to come from the monks skin, they could have screamed but they did not, Devran was already at work with his time spell, there was a bright flash of blue light and the time spell was complete. Devran almost balcked out as the spell took so much out of him, one of the Preists got to work with a revive spell and the other worked on a spell that could only be used once, a cooling spell, and the sizzling stopped.
There was another blue flash of light and a beautiful symphony of instruments, a slender ice being floated down from the heavens, he was called Sonrand, there was a tremble and the and the planet stopped it's rotation but thanks to Devran Wa'dea had enough time to summon a heaven creature, she floated down beside Sonrand, she was Haggai, there was a green flash of light and one more Materia being floated down and stopped beside Haggai alongside, this one was an earth being he was called Geomancer, another thanksto Devran the Planet was taking longer to loose gravity. The three materia based beings joined hands and started chanting words in the speech. One more form joined them though, it floated up from the temple roof top, it was Devran, he had an evil glow to his eyes, he smilled at Wa'dea as Wa'dea looked up in shock.
"What are doing!?" Wa'dea cried over the din.
"I am going to retrieve my due, I will be the most powerful being known to the Cenara, I shall retrieve the Shimmer Sticks!" he cried.
"That's insane, you would get pulled into the Planet's core, you would dye surely! If you did get the Shimmer Sticks this world would be destroyed, you are insane!" Wa'dea shouted.
"Ah my dear friend, I am far from insanity, I shall gain imortality, I wil be the ultimate being!" Devran smilled and somehow flew, he flew towards the large opening in the Planet, in the middle of the ocean, Wa'dea lost sight of him, he knew he would never make it, or would he?
Devran swung his legs out infront of him to stop, he was right above the hole, he could the Shimmer Sticks, he had to protect his eyes from their glow, he dove down at a tremendous speed and stopped infront of them, he slowly circled them, he reached out and grasped them in his hands, he could feel there power and knowledge pulsins through his veins, he let out a sinister laugh, "I am the ultimate being! I have the power!!!!!!" suddenly the earth being Geomancer appeared before him, Devran reached deep within himself and created a poisonus blast toxins, they hit Geomancer hrd but it did not kill him. Geomancer mumble an incantation in the speech and enclosed Devran in a rock hard shell, but before casting the spell snatched the Shimmer Sticks away from Devran. The stone casing fell deep within the Planet with Devran screaming and pounding on the stone prison. Geomancer the flew down past the stone with Devran locked inside and in the crust, he placed the Simmer Sticks in the middle to float there for another ten thousand years. Geomancer shot up and out of the tear in the Planet's fabric. He chanted some more spells in the speech and he the dove back down, he grabbed ahold of on of the edges of the hole and dug his fingers deep into the coral of the ocean, he paused and started to grow larger and larger until he was bigger than The Temple of the Cenara he dug his hand into the other edge of the hole and pulled the two sides together, in a huge thundering crash and a flash of green the hole had been melded together.
Back at the temple Haggai had been sustaining the gravity for long enough, she released her grasp on the Planet and shot out into to the orbit of the small world, she swooped down back to the ozone layer and melded her hands to the Planet's protective sheild, she forced all of her energy to her hands and started to spin the Planet. Haggai's energy was depleting quickly, she took the last remaining ounces of her materia and pushed the Planet into it's full spin, she dove back down to the temple where summoner kneeled waiting along with Geomancer and Sonrand. She floated down beside them and waited for her next commands, she had done this many time but she felt some evil presence the whole time through she didn't know what it was though, she could still feel it. Haggai pulled her reserve power up and joined hands with the other two, at the same time they all healed the Planet's wounds. The summoner waved his hands and her companions and herself returned to th terestrial field.
Wa'dea felt relife and joy fill his head as the materia beings left. He turned and a great cry aroused from the monks and the Preists and the Mediator as well.
