Curse of Monkey Island Saved Games
(unzip these files - about 93 kb each - and save them in your "Curse" directory)
Avoid the sword insult fighting sequences in part three with this saved game that picks up directly after Guybrush defeats Rottingham. When loading this game it will be number 100.
This saved game will take Guybrush to the underwater scene from Monkey Island 1, but now he can examine all the items down there, including his old self, described as "fish food"! When loading this game it will be number 99. Click here for more information on this easter egg.
Through the use of the wonderful Scumm Revisited program it has been discovered that Star Wars light saber sounds can replace the regular sword sounds during the part three sword insult fighting sequence. This is accomplished by press Shift-J during the ship-to-ship combat sequence. Click here for a saved game using the Star Wars sounds (it will be saved game number 98).
Piratey Games!
While the game downloads below aren't exactly Monkey Island they do have swashbuckling pirates and maritime mayhem enough to hold you over with a bunch of fun while waiting for Monkey Island 5 (we can only hope). Enjoy!
This wacky arcade-type game (with a few puzzles) from Psygnosis (sadly, now defunct) is a little like the ship combat part of The Curse of Monkey Island - but a lot more fun, and the 3D rendering of the water is beautiful. In this fully playable one level demo, you take to the high seas as a pirate galleon captain. Use enemy ships as cannon fodder, knock bomb-dropping parrots out of the sky and avoid tentacled sea monsters. Cool!
