Yup, I apologize for the small number of pretty inline pictures, plus the total lack of clickable maps or other neat things that would liven up this page. Believe me when I tell you that I would LOVE to have some fancy graphics here. However, the sysadmins around here don't see it fit to give us more than one file to make a home page out of. So, until some miracle happens, all you'll get is one massive homepage with absolutely no fancy graphics of my own, 'cuz the ones you can see are coming from other people's pages. Can't you just feel the boredom? Good thing most of the links have nice graphics.
Ugh, that came out sounding more like a whining kid. Anyways... Who am I? Well, don't a lot of people ask this question of others? So, I'll ask another in reply: Why do you want to know? Sure, it's probably rude to ask that, but heck, I should be able to have some fun, right?
But, for the people that really care to find out, I'm in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto. However, it seems people think I'm in something that's more computer related most of the time. Doesn't annoy me to no end, but still. I hate people who stereotype others...
As for my interests, you should pretty much be able to see what they are just by looking at the next section in this home page!
Hey, if you're in the same church as me... Could you also be in AY?
Hey, who can resist the urge to look, when you hear the words Free Stuff? The alt.consumers.free-stuff newsgroup FAQ of the newsgroup alt.consumers.free-stuff is available. You can find out a bit more about this newsgroup (and, of course, go and get some free stuff) from there.
There are also some sites which lead you to free stuff. There's also a site there which is tailored specifically for Canadians, where the free stuff offers have been verified to work in Canada. Because, as you all know, a lot of those free stuff offers are limited to the United States.
And... In case you didn't know it, there are actually things available which can help you EARN money on the net! Yes, you heard me. You can actually EARN money. Check these places out!
Stuff to keep you away from what you should really be doing!
AquaLink is a great starting point for all of your aquarium related needs. It's got info for freshwater, saltwater, and plant aquariums. Heck, they're The Largest Aquaria Web Resource in the World, or so they say. However, if you want to go deeper, go to CHOP, the Cichlid Home Page. And, if you want to get right to the King of the Aquarium, go to The Discus Page!
I'm a sucker for techie toys... At least, as far as my money will get me. I currently have an Atari Jaguar 64-bit Interactive Multimedia System for gaming purposes, as well as two Sega Saturns. Sounds impressive, doesn't it? The car I drive is a 1993 Saturn SL2, from a different kind of car company, a different kind of car. Hmm... In my computer I have the requisite Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 SCSI-II sound card, along with an Advanced Gravis UltraSound wave-table synthesis card for the real music. Sounds great, especially playing all those Linux on it, a freely available POSIX compliant UNIX variant. And, I have a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4P printer. I also have a 48G calculator made by them, hacked to have 256K of RAM... Come to think of it, that's several times more than some of the earlier computers I had. In addition, I have a Texas Instruments TI-85 graphing calculator. Not as impressive as the HP, but easier to use. What other links can I think up? Umm, I've got a ZDS Z-Lite 425L sub-notebook computer... A Sony D-311 Limited Version discman (Yup, 1734/3000)... This thing is just a few mm thicker than an AA battery. They just don't make them this thin anymore. I now have also have a Fujitsu Milan notebook computer, and am in the process of assembling a dual Intel Pentium II computer using a motherboard from Tyan. There's some other links that I would like to put in for other toys I have, but I don't know them so too bad.
If you are lucky enough to have a Motorola SURFR series modem and have updated it to v.90 and find that Windows 9x is now showing you a connect rate of 115200 bps, you can get a corrected series of .inf files here which should let it show the true connect rate in Windows 9x. The Motorola modems don't send the LF (line feed) after the CARRIER message, which causes Windows to fail to recognize the rest of the connect messages. You can either find your own .inf file for your Motorola modem and remove the LF after the CARRIER messages or you can download the ones I fixed. No guarantees that this will work for your modem, though.
And, if you have a Tyan Thunder 2 motherboard and have one of the Celeron 300A or 333 processors, you will probably want to get this graphical or this text beta BIOS update (version 2.02) to allow the board to fully utilize the Celeron processor. Actually, if you want the text version of the beta BIOS, you probably want to get both BIOS files as the flash program is only in the graphical version of the BIOS file. Again, no guarantees are given. You might also want to modify your Celeron processor for use as a dual processor system. There are three places that have the info on how to do this, but they all come from the same basic document. Pick one: Kikumaru (This is the original document), CPU Central, BX Boards, Ars Technica, or Fast Graphics.
Got a Palm? So many people seem to have one of those things these days...
Geeze, that sounded kinda gloating. But I guess it's the fastest way I could dream up to stick in so many links to different places.
Th-th-th-th-that's all, folks!
