1. CORRECTIONS TO THE JULY 28, 1992 ISSUE (FIRST PRINTING)

This section contains corrections of typos, errors and oversights found in this otherwise eminent publication. The original print is dated July 28, 1992, and was released at the National Ki Instructor's Conference in New Jersey, August 5-9, 1992. (Listing every change would have taken up 14 pages or so.)

 

Page: ii. Text was slightly modified.

Pages: various. English plural of Japanese words changed to singular, as Japanese reportedly does not distinguish between the two. Words thus changed: samurais, dojos, katas.

Pages: 7-10. Text was slightly modified.

Page: 11. Section "What Is The New Jersey Ki Society?" is slightly restructured.

Page: 12. Was: "What Is The New Jersey Beer Taigi?" Is: "What Is The New Jersey Beru Tori?"

Page: 13. Two commas were added.

Page: 16. Text was added.

Page: 17-20. Text was slightly modified.

Page: 21. Section "Kiatsu" was slightly re-phrased.

Page: 23. Text was added.

Page: 26. Section header 4.1.12 slightly modified.

Page: 30. Description of Ryo Ashi Kusshin Undo was changed.

Pages 31-33. Descriptions for Aiki Taiso Nikyu Waza, Kotegaeshi Waza, Sankyu Waza, Funakogi Waza, Ikkyu Waza, Zengo Waza, Ushiro-Tori Waza, Ushiro Tekubi-Tori Zenshin Waza, Ushiro Tekubi-Tori Koshin Waza were changed.

Page: 36. Tests procedures for Joho Tekubi Kosa Undo and Kokyu Dosa were added.

Pages: 39-41. Descriptions for Katate-Kosa-Tori Kokyu-Nage Irimi Tobikomi, Katate-Kosa-Tori Kote-Gaeshi Irimi Tobikomi, Kata-Tori Ikkyu Irimi and Zagi Kokyu Dosa were slightly enhanced.

Page: 43. Text was slightly modified. Shokyu test requirements slightly re-phrased. Added: The proper execution of "Relax/Oneness-Taiso" is now a requirement at NJKS. See "Secrets of Aikido, Volume Two" for details.

Page: 44. Chukyu test requirements slightly re-phrased. Was: You must be over 10 years old Is: You must be over 13 years old. Was: Stooping (tying shoes). Is: Stooping (as if tying shoes).

Page: 45. Jokyu test requirements slightly re-phrased. Added: 16. Sitting cross-legged and holding up the arms of the examiner with both hands while being pushed by the shoulders.

Page: 45-46. Descriptions of Shoden and Chuden were slightly re-phrased.

Page: 47. Text was slightly modified. Added: "A, B, C" to titles of Jukkyu through Nanakyu.

Pages: 47, 49. Text was slightly modified. Added: Note that the '(#1)' marks on the test refer back to the descriptions in Sections 5 and 6. Added: The '(#1)' marks.

Page: 50. Description of Yonkyu test slightly re-phrased.

Page: 52. Description of Sankyu test slightly re-phrased.

Page: 53. Description of Nikyu test slightly re-phrased.

Page: 58. Description of Shodan test slightly re-phrased.

Page: 62. Description of Nidan test slightly re-phrased, taigi sorted and the Tanto-Tori techniques added from the Shodan test.

Pages: 85-96. Glossary cleaned up. Added: beru = beer. kai = society. shin = mind; body. Translation of "toitsu" slightly changed.

Page: 97. Note 1 was changed, Notes 2 and 3 were added.

Page: 99-100. Addresses to other dojo corrected.

Page: 101-104. Added Corrections and Registrations.
