::Zelgadiss walks into the room holding a long pointer and stands behind a desk, he quickly slaps the pointer down on the desk causing a startling noise::
Ahem... welcome to Zelgadiss-sensei's magic and spell lecture. First off magic is divided into 3 major groups: Black magic, Shamanist magic, and White magic. Some of these magic catagories has subcataories which I'll get into later. Now then, first off some people can cast magic spells without even saying the name or chanting any incantation. This is because the chant makes the spell more powerful and/or easier to cast... weak mages would be required to chant the entire incantation for even a simple level one spell, while a stronger magic user could just snap their fingers. For example the Dragon Slave, when chanted becomes extremely powerful but is a lot weaker if just cast without the chant.
::Zelgadiss points to the right. There you see three books on pedastals. One book is white and seems to be glowing, another is a changing array of colors, and the last one is pitch black seeming to suck the light away from it's surroundings.::
Now then what catagory of magic do you want to learn about?
Back to the tavern entrance is through here.
