People have a lot of reaons why they eat animals. The common reasons are: they taste good, we've been eating animals since millennia, I was brought up eating animals, it's convenient etc. I can give you a ton of well-reasoned arguments as to why eating animals is bad for your health, for the environment, and for the animals, but I'd rather just say one simple thing: every time you eat an animal you create suffering. I don't know if animals can reason or speak or intellectualise, but i do know that they can suffer. Now, given the choice between an action that creates suffering (eating an animal), or an action that doesn't create suffering (not eating an animal), doesn't it make sense to choose the action that doesn't create suffering? Could you look an animal in the eyes and say to it "my appetite is more important than your suffering"? I hope not. I've said it before and I'll say it again; there are viable (and usually better) alternatives to the use of animals for food, sport, clothing, and experimentation. Animals are not ours to eat, wear or experiment on. - the little evil ninja idiot voodoo child |
First of all, I would like to say that I believe very strongly in the vegan & straight edge lifestyle. I am neither militant nor hateful towards those that do not share the same beliefs as I do. I do not nor will not try to change anyone's personal beliefs. The purpose of this page is merely to provide general information to those that are vegan or are interested in becoming vegan. For the sake of wasting time I will not debate what is right or wrong. I will respect your beliefs and in return all I expect is that you do the same for me. |
