"Many years ago our moon was home to a great civilization called the Moon Kingdom, ruled by a wise and benevolent ruler, Queen Selenity...peace and harmony rang throughout the galaxy creating an era known as the Silver Millennium...until one day it was all shattered by the intrusion of the Dark Kingdom lead by Queen Beryl...Selenity using her greatest power, the Imperium Silver Crystal was able to defeat Queen Beryl's greatest warriors by trapping them in her crystal...with her kingdom destroyed and the threat of another invasion Queen Selenity used the last of the crystals power...trapping her daughter, Princess Serenity and her court into the Imperium Crystal...sending her much beloved daughter and court several thousand years into the future to be reborn on Earth...also along with her daughter she sent two guardians should the Dark Kingdom ever regain power and attack Earth...the guardians then would activate the Sailor Senshi when needed..."

The Dark Kingdom is back and now wants Earth and all it's energy to unleash the ultimate power of the Queen Metilla. Now it's up to five 14 year old girls and Tuxedo Mask to keep the Dark Kingdom from ever finding the mystical Silver Crystal or unleashing the powerful Queen Metilla and her Dark Force.

In what we [the fans] like the call the Chibi Usa/Reeny arc, a new you guessed it villian arrives who wants to steal Pegasus keeper of the dream mirrors in order to get to the mystical golden crystal guared in the depths of the Illusion Kingdom.

Towards the end of the Sailor Moon series, a new breed of super villains comes to Earth to steal starseeds. Galactic warriors from a far off planet arrive sent to retrive their missing princess, and have a final showdown. The senshi get some help from the Starlights, but they still have to face the ultimate evil.
