Saviour or Satan
Chapter 1

The usual beautiful dawn was covered in a black swirling mass of negative energy, and with the Ginzuishu and Neo-Queen Serenity gone, there was no way to stop the vortex as it slowly began to enlarge in size and prepare to swallow the earth into a world of evil and darkness. Within the weakening walls of the Crystal Palace, the remaining four Inner Senshi and the loyal feline advisors are holding one last meeting, in hopes a miracle will arrive and save them all. As they were discussing possibilities and chances of survival, Diana’s mind took her back to when the trouble first started. The arrival of that odd and weird creature, warning them to stop the evil while there was still hope and vanishing before any questions could be asked. She shuddered at the thought now, if only . . .

SAVIOUR OR SATAN?

"Luna, I’ve been having disturbing dreams. Perhaps you can explain what they mean."

"I’ll try Serenity-sama."

"First there’s this odd creature that somehow looks familiar, we’re standing in a valley of some sorts and it’s beautiful. I feel at peace there, but then, the Dark Kingdom looms over this valley and it begins to burn in black flames. One of the creatures runs, while all the adults I assume are forming a strange pattern and saying strange words even more incomprehensible and complex than English. I guess time passes and I look around at all the dead bodies and burnt valley."

"I don’t understand either, what did the creatures look like?"

"They looked like Ellios, when he was Pegasus. Except for their size, they were enormous. Some looked like they were eight feet tall at the shoulders alone."

Luna sat down and half closed her eyes in thought, she was trying to remember something from long ago on the moon.

"I . . . I think I remember a creature like that, except much smaller. She was an Alicorn who came to the moon to play with you when you were a child. She rarely obeyed rules, the Alicorns lived in a valley on the earth, they were solitary creatures that refused an alliance with the Moon Kingdom. Although they were not friends, they weren’t our enemies either. Alicorns seldom got involved in human business if I remember correctly."

"I suppose, but if the Alicorn that came to the Moon Kingdom and played with me was my friend, where was she when the Dark Kingdom attacked?"

"She did come to the moon to help after her valley was destroyed and all her family and friends killed, the brave soul. But she was very young and inexperienced, she came to help the Moon Kingdom saying that one more would make the difference between victory and death. As I said she was young and inexperienced, she fought to the best of her abilities. When Beryl attacked you and prince Endymoin, the first strike didn’t hit you, she had jumped into the blast and used her own powers to fight Beryl. Alas it was to no avail, her attempt to save you both had been in vain, Beryl quickly overcame her magic and struck her full force in the chest before Beryl blew her into the darkness of space and she died." Luna sighed. "The rest you know."

"I wish I could remember her name and what we did together." Serenity sighed.

Luna nodded in agreement.

In the royal conference room, Neo-Queen Serenity is talking with the Inner Senshi about any news of any sorts. Living in a kingdom of complete peace and tranquillity did tend to get dull since no one in their right mind would try to attack earth ever since the Death Phantom’s attempt.

"Any interesting news to report?" Serenity sighed.

Each of the Inner Senshi shook their heads. But then Mars shivered as an unknown presence entered the room. There was a sudden burst of green flames that died down to reveal an Alicorn.

The Alicorn had an ethereal look about her and spread a wash of calmness through the room. Her green eyes studied them all and rested on Serenity and Endymoin before she delivered her warning telepathically.

"Evil approaches as you all sit here, heed my warning and destroy it while there is still hope for this beautiful and peaceful world." She said before vanishing in the green flames.

"Would someone mind telling me what that thing was?" Demanded Jupiter who was still in a bit of shock at the Alicorn’s sudden arrival and departure.

"That was an Alicorn, but I thought they were all dead . . . Luna?"

Luna was in a state of shock as well but snapped out of it when Serenity asked her question.

"So did I frankly, but there is a possibility that one survived the attack."

<Why show herself now . . .?> Artemis thought, a little disgruntled.

The meeting ended there with no further thought of the Alicorn’s warning of evil, Serenity had some doubts but brushed them off. There was no proof of her claim after all . . . but still, those eyes . . .

Luna was following Serenity with her mind in turmoil. A small hole appeared and engulfed Serenity, taking the Ginzuishu with it. Luna saw what happened and tried to follow without luck. She ran full out to King Endymoin and the Senshi to tell them what happened.

Mars suddenly reeled in dizzyness at the evil force that entered and exited the palace.

"Mars! Are you alright?" Mercury asked with concern.

"An evil force . . . it was so evil . . . I’ve felt nothing like it . . ."

Luna suddenly burst into the room with her news. Minna gasped and ran to the spot where Serenity had vanished. Endymoin arrived first and was almost fuming because he hadn’t been there to help her. Mercury began scanning the area with her computer with no luck, whoever had done this knew how to cover their tracks. The hall turned ice cold before a dark and evil voice filled the corridor.

"HA HA HA! I now have your Queen and her pathetic crystal Sailor Failures! Did you honestly think that that pathetic Alicorn could’ve warned you in time for me! You should have heeded her brats! You brought this upon yourselves! Surrender now! You can never defeat me! I AM LUCIFER!" His blood curdling voice ended with maniacal laughter.

The corridor’s icy chill subsided and warmth flooded through the halls.

Meanwhile, deep in the earth, in a cage of flames, Serenity is starting to let her fear show. A dark

shadow approaches the cage and blood red eyes glare at her maliciously.

"Welcome Serenity-sama . . . to the darkest corner of the home of shrieking souls, welcome to HELL!"

"You can’t hold me here against my will Lucifer, good will triumph." She tell him in an eerily calm voice. (This is pretty good, considering the place she’s in)

Serenity calls forth the Ginzuishu and strikes the cage of black flames. Lucifer watches in amusement at the startled look on her face when it doesn’t work.

"Only one soul has ever escaped me! And you’re not her!"

Serenity decides to switch tactics and get a little more information out of Lucifer about this one that escaped him.

"I can see why no one except her escaped. Who is her exactly?"

Lucifer frowned at the memory.

"Three thousand years ago I sent my minions Metallia and her group to conquer the earth and your mother’s Moon Kingdom. The Alicorns and their precious valley were destroyed." He grinned at that. "But one Alicorn survived, since she was so young I ignored her. The fool creature went to help the moon. When Beryl struck her and sent her dying form to space I grabbed her and placed the wretched creature in the cage you stand in. She didn’t die and escaped, she attacked me and vanished before I could grab her again." He scowled, a very terrifying effect. But Serenity wanted one more bit of information.

"What was the wretched creature’s name?" She winced inwardly, she didn’t like using such terms about anyone. Especially one that had tried to warn them.

It was hard to catch his answer but Serenity managed.

"Sarah." He muttered before stalking of to prepare his next attack.

Memories came flooding back at that name.
