Sailor Moon is about a young teenage girl named Usagi Tsukino who meets a cat named Luna who can talk. She is told that she is the fighter for love and justice, Sailor Moon. She is a clutz, and a bit of a ditz, but she grows stronger and is always true to her friends. Eventually she meets Ami Mizuno, Sailor Mercury, who is very smart. Then Rei Hino finds out she is Sailor Mars and joins them as well. She is a priestess at her grandfather's temple, and doesn't get along well with Usagi. Makoto, Sailor Jupiter, is the second to last to join. She is a strong fighter, and a great cook. Sailor Venus, Minako, joins last, bringing Artemis (her cat and Luna's friend) as well. She was fighting crime as Sailor V in England, but is as airheaded as Usagi. Mamoru helps the scouts as Tuxedo Mask, until he is turned evil by Queen Beryl.
The entire time, Queen Beryl of the Negaverse is trying to drain energy from humans, or capture the Rainbow Crystals. The Sailor Senshi and Tuxedo Mask fight her minions throughout the season. Finally, in the last episode, Sailor Moon transforms into Princess Serenity (her former self) and uses the Emperial Silver Crystal and the strength of the dead scouts to defeat Beryl.
At first, none of the scouts remember fighting Queen Beryl, being Sailor Scouts, or even meeting each other. Then Allen and Ann come with the Doom Tree to suck the energy out of any life forms they can, and disguise themselves as local teens, a brother and sister, and enroll in Usagi's high school. When Usagi is attacked, Luna wakes her up using the Luna Mind Meld, and she remembers everything. Soon afterwards the others are awakened as well, happy to be back; except Darien. He continues to live a normal life (except Usagi and Ann are continuously fighting over him while Allen goes after Usagi), but his spirit helps the scouts as the Moonlight Knight. Eventually they beat Allen and Ann by teaching them to love, the Doom Tree turns back into the Tree of Life, and they leave. Darien also remembers who he is when they are healed, and he and Usagi are back together for a few episodes.
One day, Usagi and Darien are talking in the park, and a little girl named Rini, with hair like Usagi's, falls from the sky. She demands to have the Emperial Silver Crystal, giving them both a shock (she is from 30th century Tokyo, but doesn't tell them that). She then brainwashes Usagi's family into believing she is their neice, and helps to breaks up Usagi and Darien (more later on who else does). The family of the Negamoon is after her, and the scouts constantly save her as she looks for the crystal. Eventually she learns who the scouts are, and steals the crystal from Usagi. Rubius, the member of the Negamoon family searching in the past for Rini, captures Sailor Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and Mars. Rini and Usagi, now friends, go up to his ship to save them. Usagi does, and they leave. Darien and Usagi, now back together, agree that they should all go to the 30th century to try and save Rini's mom. They learn that she is Darien and Usagi's daughter, and that they are NeoKing Endymion and NeoQueen Serenity; they learn this from Darien's future self. But Rini is captured and turned into Black Lady by WiseMan, and helps to overthrow the Negamoon family. In the final battle, Usagi and Darien must make Rini understand she is brainwashed, by using the Silver Crystal so that Usagi turns into Rini's mother. She is convinced in a great battle. Then Wiseman starts to open the Dark Portal to destroy the Earth. Usagi, with very little strength left, uses the Crystal again to fight. Rini wants to help, and when she cries she gets a surprise. The Silver Crystal she had lost in the 30th century palace, had really gone inside of her! She uses it to help fight along Usagi, and the scouts use their planet attack to boost the power. Wiseman is destroyed, the earth is saved, and Rini goes back home to her loving parents and friends (the scouts).
In Sailor Moon S, the third season, Uranus and Neptune join. They are searching for the talismens to create the Holy Grail to be given to the messiah so that The Silence won't happen. The Silence is basically the death of the planet and everyone on it. The talismens they search for are inside pure hearts. Professor Tomoe (turned evil by Pharoah 90) orders the Witches 5 to go after the talismens as well. They wish to awaken the messiah of silence so that Pharoah 90 can be brought to Earth to create The Silence. Uranus and Neptune are willing to sacrifice anyone including themselves to get the talismens. They find out that the talismens are inside their own hearts, and are ready to die to give the talismens to Sailor Moon when Pluto appears and tells them that the talismens are them to use, just as her Garnet orb on her Time Staff is hers. The three talismen then combine to form the chalice which Sailor Moon holds onto (it lets her transform into Super Sailor Moon, and use her attack because her old one doesn't work anymore). Then Uranus keeps the Space Sword and Neptune keeps the Aqua Mirror.
ChibiUsa (Rini) had also returned to the 20th century to be trained. Her mother, Neo Queen Serenity, wants her to learn how to make friends. She is to be a sailor scout, Sailor Chibi Moon. She and Usagi have some interesting attacks. She makes friends with Hotaru, Professor Tomoe's daughter, who is very weak. It turns out that she actually Sailor Saturn. ChibiUsa is captured by Tomoe and Hotaru is fed ChibiUsa's heart crystal so that she is turned into Mistress 9, the messiah of Darkness. Sailor Uranus and Neptune are tied to a statue in the room they are fighting in, and so Sailor Moon must do something. Hotaru still has a bit of an existance in Mistress 9's body, and asks for the chalice. Sailor Moon gives it to her, as Uranus and Neptune plead for her not to, and then Mistress 9 laughs. Pharoah Ninety now has a way to come. Hotaru eventually gets Mistress 9 out of her body, and becomes Sailor Saturn as Pharoah Ninety is arriving. She gives ChibiUsa her heart crystal back, and returns to Sailor Moon who is very battered. She then announces that she will destroy him because she is the Soldier of Destruction, and only she has the power. Sailor Moon cries for she can't transform to Super Sailor Moon to help Hotaru so that Hotaru won't die from her attack against Pharoah Ninety. The Four Guardian scouts hear her, and send their power to her. Uranus and Neptune are touched by her sincerity. She cries out one last time Moon Crisis Power, Make-up! and it works! The 6 scouts had given her the power to transform. She then goes into Pharoah Ninety. There is an explosion, and he is killed. Sailor Moon is next seen with a little baby, all tattered.
ChibiUsa is now going home to the future. Her last words as she leaves are to Usagi...that she doesn't want to go!! A little while later she comes back, and everyone asks why. She says that they couldn't possibly survive without her!! So ChibiUsa is back.
Coming Soon
In the beginning, Neherenia returns and tries to
kill Sailor Moon and the other senshi. She is eventually
returned to her un-evil self by Sailor Moon's kind heart
and such.
Then the starlights, which pose as 3 male idol singers in a
band called "The Threelights", show up. They are looking
for their princess, Princess Kakyuu. While all this is
happening, Galaxia (a very powerful foe) is attempting to
take all of the true star seeds from people on Earth. She
plans to rule them all. A star seed is basically the soul
of a person. Every has one, but the true ones belong to
senshi and planet guardians (like Mamoru). They have an
everlasting shine. When a person without a true star seed
has their star seed taken out, they become a monster.
Galaxia's henchmen are actually senshi that have been
turned to evil. They had their star seeds taken (which
kills them), but Galaxia gave them bracelets with her power
to keep them alive. This happens to Neptune and Uranus
near the end.
Well, all of the original 5 senshi have a crush on one of
the Threelights, until they all find out true identities.
When the Starlights find thier princess, she urges them to
help Sailor Moon, and to find the Light of Hope. The Light
of Hope is the only chance to win against Galaxia. This
Light of Hope is actually Chibi Chibi, who has been around
Sailor Moon for most of the series. She is a little girl
who in the final battle brings Usagi back to life to defeat
Galaxia. When Kakyuu dies, she realizes that Chibi Chibi
is the light of hope she had looked for.
Sailor Moon defeats Galaxia, and everyone comes back to
life and every one lives happily ever after (all the senshi
died during battle, and Mamoru died at the beginning of the
series). The Starlights return to their planet with their
princess.
