Maitri Charity Program

Up Meditation Courses Karuna Charitable Hospital Residential School Home for the Aged Phandey-Ling Nunnery Maitri Charity Program

Meaning of Maitri

Maitri means loving-kindness. The plan is to put Maitri into practice when MIMC visits the poverty-stricken villages.

Distribution of Necessities and Provision of Emergency Relief

Eleven truckloads of warm clothing that we received from Korea, Taiwan and Singapore have been distributed over the last few years. The villagers are in dire need of financial assistance, winter clothing, blankets and sunglasses. Emergency financial assistance for the villagers is sometimes provided. We appeal for the donation of materials and funding for this program.

Donate-One-Meal Program

The Donate-One-Meal Program was started to enable affluent people to empathize with the needy who experience hunger constantly. Donors are requested to skip one meal per week and donate the cost of this meal to the needy. The program is very meaningful as the donor not only helps to provide for the hungry financially, but also shares the suffering of the poor and hungry so that he can empathize and better appreciate what he has. From a medical perspective, doctors recommend occasional fasting as it is good for health.
