Okay, I know that you guys who go to the CNX Tonami:
Inner Circle page ( which appears to be most of you now ) already know
this little bit of info. It concerns the new possible addition to
the Toonami rotation. Animerica
Magazine, the top Anime magazine in North America has reported that
Gundam Wing is the next possible target. Bandai, who has been producing
Gundam, is in talks with the Cartoon Network at the moment to see if it's
possible to bring the series to Toonami ( though it doesn't say Toonami
specifically, where else would it go, y'know ) as early as this fall.
Now, Cartoon Network has already claimed that they will not be premiering
any new series on Toonami for the rest of 1999, so maybe they will think
about Gundam Wing as a new series for the millennium. If you need
to know more about what Gundam Wing is, you know you'll be able to find
it all over, but try the Anime Villiage.

I have a follow up to the man behind the music
for Toonami. Again, I'm sure not everyone will believe this story,
and I'm not the greatest at getting credits, but as some of you may know
again, the man who does music remixes for Toonami, Joe Vigil, had gotten
in touch with me the other day after a news article was placed promoting
MTV's
AMP v.2.0. I wrote back and got another responce, this time with
some nice news tidbits. Here's what he said:
It's no joke but I understand why you would be skeptical. I've done about 16 to 20 tracks for Toonami. At Toonami's request, I have also remixed several of the old Toonami tracks that were made by other artists. Eventually, Toonami is going to put out a CD of the Toonami music and remix episodes of new cartoon imports here in Atlanta with updated music and sound effects. It will be an atomic balls of fuzz rock dream! I have also done several tracks for other divisions of Cartoon Network and for TNT, as well as working with Wamdue Project. A solo album is in the works and I'll keep you posted on the specifics. Kids out there interested in studying sound and video art should check out the Massachusetts College of Art's Studio for Interrelated Media.
The remixes have always been one of my favorite parts of Toonami, and parts of Mr. Vigil's letter sound very substantial. I for one trust it, and it would make sense that a Toonami music album would come out. Just look at the several albums Cartoon Network has done already. Hope to hear more from ya Joe.

Well, I think this could be interesting news, though
the actual backup to this is non-existent. The other day I put up
a news article about MTV's Amp 2.0, a techno-pop music program they air
early mornings ( see Toonami news for that article ) and made a point that
some of the music there is somewhat similar to that you hear on the intros
and inbetweens of Toonami. Well, maybe afew days later, I received
an unusual email by a gentleman named Joe Vigil which read as such:
Saw your comment on my music and AMP. Glad you enjoy it.
I create the music and sound effects for about 90% of everything you
hear on Toonami's commercials.
We just finished some new stuff today, I'm sure you'll like it.
Later and keep listening,
Joe
As I said, not much, and the likelihood that I actually got the attention of the person who creates those musical cues is basically nil, but it's still a response. I'm keeping his email to myself until I am given permission to let others know his address, but if he is the creator, I'm sure there are several of you who'd like to let him know how he's doing.

Okay, so you're okay with the opening mixes on
the Toonami programs, right? For those of you who answered yes to
that, then just give this a listen. While Cartoon Network has still
stayed hush-hush on who does all those little musical pieces, I do know
this. If you like that kind of music, there is a show I must recommend.
It's ben around for a bit, and doesn't get much of a following, but there
is a show on MTV, goes by the name of 'AMP 2.0.' ( website
Amp at MTV )It is music videos, and they don't contain any of the shows
you know and love, but the music is just as kickin' as on Toonami.
It's comes on at about 2 AM, so most of you will need to set your VCR.
Give it a look, or give it a listen. If you're into or are able to
tolerate techno, then you must give a try.

Z Day is coming. 09-13-99. You also
know it as the Second Coming. If you don't know what either of those
mean, get out of your cave on Namek and listen up. The new episodes
of Dragonball Z will be premiering that day. We all were left hanging,
wondering if Goku was really a Super Sayian, wondering if Frieza would
be able to make his wish with the collected dragonballs, and a whole lotta
other questions. Soon, the mystery will be solved, as new episodes
come at us. Buckle up kids.
