The Paintings of Karsten Petersen

Paintings anyone?

I love to paint pictures , - in fact I love anything that is creative - , and have worked as an artist since one of my uncles gave me some oil paint and a piece of canvas way back in my early teenager years.

I can paint virtually anything, - in any style -, and have also done so, but my heart lies with the marine painting - - - ( Of course!!!)
This is a special branch and a tradition which requires a deep knowledge of ships and the sea.

Therefore it is a highly specialized branch within the art of oil painting , and of obvious reasons not many artists can do this kind of painting in a convincing way, since it can only be done by a professional sailor, or by someone who is close to ships and the sea and have the instinct for how they react together.
And , - of course -, he must have a certain talent for painting too - - -

I would really have liked to be able to make a living by painting all the ships in the world, but unfortunately there is no demand for that type of artwork.
Modern people apparently want abstract pictures, that does not require quite the same level of involvement and skill as real art do, - unfortunately - - -
