Help Me! |
I need help! As many Western fans of Mr. Masamune Shirow, I have a lot of problems trying to get stuff and information. In particular I'd like to know more about:
May you help me? Mail me.
Obviously the author of any help will be correctly quoted. Thanks a lot!
In particular I'd like to know some Japanese fans. Is there any? Mail me!
Why don't you update Puto's as fast as before?
Sigh! I'm so sorry about it but since some months I'm really busy. I have studied hard but finally on December 18 I have done the last exam (31st!) of Engineering. I'm so happy about it... but I wasn't for long. In fact less than 24 hours later I have received the advice for the compulsory Italian military service. SIGH!
Actually I'm working on the final thesis. What's rolling on the right? Well, it's a brain (scanned by magnetic resonance) and I'm working on artificial intelligence algorithms so a computer can try to recognize and align volumes. It's very interesting but time consuming too.
Why isn't there any image gallery inside Puto's?
Time ago (when Geocities accounts weren't so spacious) I had one, but I wasn't satisfied and I removed it.
FAQ
Well, I wanted to graduate on February 19 (every Puto's guest is invited obviously!) but I'll have to leave on January 24 for Florence, so I don't know if there is enough time. But I have finished the university so I really haven't anything to groan about.
On the left you can see both the military advice (on the left) and my university report book (I have waited so much to see it so full!).
Then attempting to advertise my pages among official companies, I had to try to respect copyright laws. The attempt wasn't successful, but the "copyright style" is remained. Today I'm still trying to maintain my pages as much correct as I can, so an image gallery is out of the question. Sorry.
Please mail me if you know any other interesting address. Thanks.
Which are the comics created by Mr. Masamune Shirow?
I'm not sure to know every Shirow's work, but inside my Shirow page you can find a long list.
I have read all Shirow comics and I'd like to get something more. Which stuff do you recommend?
Well, this is a difficult question. Besides the comics, these are the other works I think have a good quality/price ratio and are quite easy to find: Intron Depot 1, Intron Depot 2 "Blades", Appleseed Hypernotes (Japanese) and, perhaps, the GitS Official Art Book (Japanese). Look at the respective pages to know more, but remember that this is only a personal opinion.
Don't you think that Kodansha is exaggerating about the prices of its products?
I'm sure they do! If you want to protest, write them at:
Or go at: http://www.kodansha.co.jp/
May I use some parts of your site inside my pages?
Well, first of all: yes, you can. But, please, mail me about it and tell where you have found those information (trying not to do a simple "cut and paste").
HA! HA! HA! I have something you haven't!
Pardon me!? Are you sure? If you are right this could be a great opportunity for you to help a poor Shirow fan. Please mail me and we'll be able to speak more about it.
When next Puto's update?
Unfortunately nobody pays me to maintain Puto's, so I update it when I have some free time. You could find something new every two weeks, two months, ...
Do you know that Puto is a very insulting word in Spanish?
Yes, I know. I have received many mails about this problem from Spanish friends. But I don't want to change the name of my home page. When I have chosen it (many years ago), I didn't know his Spanish meaning. In Italian language it hasn't any particular meaning nor in English.
Hi! I'm a French fan and ...
French! Do you know that Xav (one of your fellow-countryman) has created a French version of Puto's? You can find it at: brenten.free.fr.

Sorry, but this chapter is Italian only. It regards some information about Italian editions of Shirow's manga.
Eccolo qua:

Edizioni Italiane
Editore Granata Press | ||
Grazie a Gix! |
Black Magic | 2 volumi, pubblicati su Z Comix; numeri 16 e 17 (Settembre e Ottobre 1992); pag. 114, 90; L. 5.000; 24x16 cm. |
Dominion | 2 volumi, pubblicati su Z Comix; numeri 18 e 19 (Novembre e Dicembre 1992); pag. 90, 90; L. 5.000; 24x16 cm. | Per la reperibilita' vedi Black Magic. |
Editore Star Comics | ||
Arms | Volume unico, pubblicato su Kappa Magazine; numero 85 (Luglio 1999); pag. 7; L. 6.000; 24x16,5 cm. | Disponibile come arretrato. |
Appleseed e Appleseed Databook | 4 volumi, pubblicati su Storie di Kappa; numeri 12, 14, 15, 16; pag. 256, 256, 240, 240 (solo Databook pag. 30, 20, 25, 68); L. 10.000; 21x14,5 cm. | Disponibili come arretrati.
Dai Gassaku | Volume unico, pubblicato su Kappa Magazine; numero 64 (Ottobre 1997); pag. 48; L. 6.000; 24x16,5 cm. | Disponibile come arretrato. |
Dominion Conflict 1 | Volume unico, pubblicato su Supplemento a Storie di Kappa; Maggio 1998; pag. 160; L. 8.000; 21x14,5 cm. | Disponibile come arretrato. |
48, 50, 48, 46, 42, 46, 44, 23; L. 4.500; 24x16,5 cm. | Disponibili come arretrati.
