What We Do

The TFN Band performs in statewide competitions each year. In the past, this has included the Midwest Music Festival and the IHSA Organizational Contest. There are also opportunities to compete in solo and ensemble competitions. We perform at home football games, the Labor Day parade, the Homecoming parade, the Calumet City Tree Lighting Ceremony, and other community events. The band hosts three concerts throughout the school year, including the "Grand Band Concert" in May. All Calumet City area bands participate in it, with a huge finale as one grand band.



We Want You

Experienced and new musicians are welcome to the TFN Bands. There are two bands available, one for experienced, and one for beginners. For students who do not own their own instrument, there are many places that have instruments available for rental or rent-to-own. Call us for more information. If money is an issue, we try our best to equip any student that is willing to work hard and do their best in band with an instrument. The student, in return, is required to sign a contract, care for the instrument, and is liable for any damage that may occur while he/she is in possession of the instrument.

1. "OK" it with your parents.
2. Contact the TFN Band at (708) 585-1079
3. See your counselor and add Band to your schedule ASAP.

The earlier you do this the better chance that you will be accepted!!
