HELP! How to find my T.A.
There comes a time--or times!--in almost every student's life when s/he needs to find an instructor outside of class meetings. For some reason, this usually happens:
- about 15 minutes after the end of the last scheduled office hour of the week
- sometime after 1 a.m.
Have no fear! Thanks to modern technology, with only a minimal amount of effort on your part, you'll learn that it's not at all difficult to reach either Professor Thompson or your T.A.--and that you'll normally be able to get a response within a very short time. If you're trying to find your TA, here are some options:
- Drop by your T.A.'s office hours.
All the T.A.'s are in the same office--028 Eggers Hall. Their office hours are as follows:
Gilda Bonanno | Tu 12-1, Th 11:30-12:30 |
Jim Eichsteadt | Th 11-12, F 9:30-10:30 |
Matt Harris | Tu 12:30-2, Th 8-10 |
Mary Mankus | Tu 8:30-9:30, F 10:30-11:30 |
Dave Lobb | Tu&W 1:30-2:30 |
Julien Vernet | Tu 12:30-1:30, Th 11:30-12:30 |
If your T.A.'s office hours are incompatible with your schedule, you can make an appointment for another, mutually convenient time. Just see your T.A. in class, or use one of the other methods to get in touch, in order to do so.
- Use the telephone.
If it's during his or her office hours, you can reach your T.A. at the office extension: x. 9160; otherwise leave a message at the History Department: x. 2210.
- Use E-Mail.
Your T.A. checks e-mail regularly--usually at least once a day. If you send an e-mail, be sure to sign your message with your full name, as well as the e-mail address or phone number where you'd like to receive a response. You can send an e-mail by clicking on your T.A.'s name, below:
Gilda Bonanno
Jim Eichsteadt
Matt Harris
Dave Lobb
Mary Mankus
Julien Vernet
- Leave a note.
You can leave a note in your T.A.'s mailbox in the History Department (145 Eggers), or on/under their office door. However, this is probably the least efficient way to find anyone--because it presumes they are going to check those places! So, please use the methods above for best results.
