A spell for Endings and New Beginnings,
with thanks to KC for her suggestion

Without going into too many boring personal details, the last scene in an 13 year relationship was recently played out and I very much wanted some way to mark the closure of something I'd often feared would never end.   I've included two versions here; the kitchen witch and the more formal wiccan

 

The Kitchen Witch version (short and sweet)

Supplies: one small black candle and one small green candle, incense of your choice (I used honeysuckle which is my normal altar incense), one ballpoint pen, and matches.

On the black candle, starting at the top of the candle, write the words "over, done, finished, complete, ended, fini" in a spiral moving down the length of the candle.

On the green candle, starting at the top of the candle, write the words "new, beginnings, fresh start, growth", and anything else that symbolizes what you want to affirm from this point forward.

Light the incense

Light the black candle and either let it burn down completely or else blow it out when you feel the point has been made.  (If you blow out the candle throw away the remainder before you go on to the next step)

Light the green candle and let it burn all the way down.  As you watch the candle burn affirm the new beginnings in your life.

The Wiccan Version

Supplies: Normal altar candles, one small black candle and one small green candle, incense of your choice (I used honeysuckle which is my normal altar incense), one ballpoint pen, and matches.

On the black candle, starting at the top of the candle, write the words "over, done, finished, complete, ended, fini" in a spiral moving down the length of the candle.

On the green candle, starting at the top of the candle, write the words "new, beginnings, fresh start, growth", and anything else that symbolizes what you want to affirm from this point forward.

Set up your altar normally and then place the black candle in the west and the green candle in the east.  Cast your circle and then ask Cerridwen to witness the ceremony.

Lady of transformations, of beginnings and endings and new beginnings join with me now as I mark the closure of (insert your issue here) and the beginning of a new life without the burdens of the past,

Light the incense
