My relationship with Athena started so long ago I can't even remember, but I'd guess I was somewhere around 8 or 10 when she first made her presence felt in my life.  Athena is the Goddess of career women.  If you're determined to scratch and claw your way up the latter I would strongly suggest worshipping at her altar.  I did and I guess it was a mutually agreeable relationship.  I've tried to broaden myself from the early image of the wounded amazon but Dear Grey Eyes and I have come to far together for too many years for me to ever even think of leaving her.

The winds are now rising and with them I ask for the presence of the one who I seek.
Hail, Athena, Goddess of Air,
Lady of the freshening winds, the illuminating dawn!
Thou who art the cutting edge of thought, grant me knowledge!
As I make my way through this world show me the path of pride in my work and success in my craft.
Gift me with your shining blade of grace and will.
Grant me the awareness , ability , and enthusiasm I need ,
So that my efforts will always serve as a testement to your patronage.
As you shall judge my work, let others also judge, and may my reward be received in your honor.
Lady of Insight, open my mind to truth and my heart to acceptance.
Bless me with thy keen gaze, so that I might search inside for my own light.
Knowing that as it is spoken it is also done, I give thanks.
