U2 - Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
London Calling
If you're in London,
then the essential listings guide to gigs, films and
everything is Time Out
. Check out the latest news from them and find out
what's going on in London, Paris, Amsterdam and New
York.
More London information, including a tour of Portabello Market(one of my favourite places to spend a Saturday afternoon) can be found at London Calling And one of my other favourite places to spend a weekend is Camden Lock - that is, when it's not full of students.. and speaking of students, where would we London University students be without Dillonsbookstore in Bloomsbury. Nice architecture too.
For a guided tour of London's attractions, check out UCL's London Guide with some cool photos...
Another touristy place that even Londoners visit is the Natural History Museum.
And speaking of touristy, I was with a friend visiting London from Israel (hi Muklet!), which is my
only excuse for being photographed with the
pigeons in Trafalgar
Square
If I ever have money on a Sunday or a Wednesday night, you may well find me visiting the Comedy Store.. find out who'sperforming. And speaking of British Comedy.. the most obscure game ever invented on the radio is now on line. Yes, you too can be baffled by the enigma that is Mornington Crescent.
But for a broader comedy view, incuding TV and radio, and, justfor all you americans, a UK/US slang dictionary, check out the American-maintained British Comedypages. If theatre is more your style,
and you want to know what's hit the West End Stage recently, look at the London Theatre Guide.
And the ultimate Directory for all things British is Right Here!
News and Views
Even though I've left there, here's a relic from my time at Michigan State, here is their very own State News Daily Paper!.
At long last.. the Guardian newspaper is up on line!!!
But if the Guardian isn't enough for you, here's a
general news site that can take you to loads of different newspapers,
magazines, Time, etc....and although they are much too right wing in
their reporting for my taste, they are also the best on line newspaper
in the uk - the Daily Telegraph
Another rather cool on line news paper is Nando News... or alternatively, get the latest news from
CNN
For a different perspective on things, read the Fortean Times and learn about strange phenomena.
Serious Stuff
Well.. as serious as I ever get. But I thought, that seeing as I'm learning all about
them, and there's some pretty cool stuff out there, that I'd link you to pages on
Physics,and Mathematics
to take you back to school. Also you can find out all the wrong things they taught
you at school at the Bad Science page,
which aims to correct all those once-learned misperceptions. And a page that links to the
one thing that I remember from my school physics lessons - how to dissect a bull's eye -
can be found from the SanFransisco Exploratorium .
My first degree was in Speech Therapy, so covered a lot of Neuroscience.. go look at the
Whole Brain Atlas with lots
of cool brain scans.
And please don't go without Signing My
Guestbook .. or you can just plain view it
Go from here to look at my interests, or the music page, or Lesbian Resources or visit my friends.
