Friday, December 07, 1888

My old friend, George Metzner came back last night after

being gone 2 1/2 years. I had given up all hopes of ever

seeing him again. Was glad to welcome him back again.

Sunday, December 09, 1888

Mary and I went down to Tripps. We had a nice time. I got

Edith into the buttery and hugged and kissed her for a long

time. This is the first time in two years that I have had any fun

with her.

Monday, December 10, 1888

We knew each other

I went down to visit Lizzie Hurt's school. I got there at 3:35

too well to ever marry -

P.M. after she dismissed school we staid in the school house

so she said <>-

until dark. I had a great time with her. Then we went over to

underlined

Mrs. Hubbards and stayed all night. I had not been there for a

year and one half. I went to school with her and built a fire

and started for home.

Saturday, December 22, 1888

I went to St. Cloud. Went to Charley Hubbard's on Sunday.

Spent Christmas there and stayed until Wednesday. Got

aquatinted with Miss Annie Warner. Had lots of fun. Kissed

Miss Lizzie Warner, this is the third time that I have saw her.

Came home on an extra. Had my picture taken <>-underlined.

I A freer girl was this Lizzie Warner went to (? teach in the ??

husband) Didn't and got in the family way before spring by

Bill Clark her Brother-in-law's nephew.
