Charles Hubbard and I went out hunting this afternoon and he |
ran a deer on to me and I killed it. |
Saturday, November 24, 1888 |
John Tripp, Robert Tripp, Albert Adams and myself went up |
to mud creek to hunt. Camped in the water tank. |

We came home from hunting. I killed one big buck. That was |
all we got. Had lots of fun. I jumped off of the train out here in |
front of the house. Found out that Laura had been here all |
afternoon and had just left for Oak Park to take the train |
home. Wants me to come down tomorrow. Will go I guess. |

Wend down to see Laura. We had a long talk and we |
concluded that we could not get along together so shook |
hands, kissed and parted good friends. Well I think I could |
have loved her had everything went well. Perhaps it is all for |
the best. I will not mourn over it at all and will always say that |
she is a lady and a good virtuous and hard working girl |
