Lew Hart was buried today. He accidentally shot his left arm |
off and died form loss of blood soon after. Leaves a wife and |
child to mourn this loss. I have known him all my life. |
We were at Elma Lund's funeral a few days before this. |

We heard today that Lottie Kerrick or Gusslander was dead. |
Left a baby and husband. It beats all how the young people |
have died around here this year. |
I was thirty years old today and was elected surveyor of |
Benton Co. Did not think of running until Nov. 1, and did not |
canvass any until Nov. 3. (Got the most votes but my name |
had not been put on any ballots. So the commissioners |
appointed the old surveyor.) |

Bro Joe went back to Barnsville to work again. We hated to |
see him go again, but he is doing well there so it is best for |
him to hold the position down until he gets a start. |

I was married at 8 o'clock P.M. to Miss Amanda Check ("The |
Little Girl"). We went to Milaca and was married by the Rev. [ |
and never regretted it ] Mr. Proctor at the residence of my |
Bro. - in - law G. F. Sylvester. We came back the next day. |
Then came home. So it is over and I am happy and content |
at last. ??Another note between entries that did not copy |
