Listen to tale about a gal named Syn!!!

I am originally from Ontario, Canada. I left at an early age and have been back often throughout the years. I journeyed with my family to Northern Manitoba, Thompson to be exact, there I lived for 9 years before embarking on a journey out west, to Edmonton, Alberta, and continue to call my home.

I married very young at 17, just a babe myself. I have three wonderful children, 2 daughters and a son.

My oldest daughter has given me a grandson and a granddaughter, both of whom I spoil as often as I can.

My son is single.

My youngest daughter recently married a very nice fella, she met on the internet!!! She left Canada and moved to Alaska, they will soon be moving back to Canada.

Hope I haven't bored you yet...

While my children attended school, I got very involved in the school. Working on the parent committee, helping and attending field trips and working with students one on one. This is when I decided that I would like to work with kids and pursued my education.

The first courses I took were in the Child Care field. I attended classes in the evenings and worked part time, mostly in group homes and detention centers. Most of the teenagers I worked with were within the judical system and under 24 hour supervision. My ideal was to work with kids in schools, at that time it was not widely recognized and there were not many programs offered for these kids in schools. Frustration and burnout is high in this field. So I opted to change direction.

I have also worked on the other side as well, in a volunteer capacity, as a victim advocate for our local Police Department. Working with people who had been victims of crime. This led to an understanding of how people are affected by criminals and criminal activity.

I then entered my next phaze and decided that computers were what I wanted to work with and started out working for a software company and learned the ropes. Working with programers, writing their manuals, and working myself into support. I was very dangerous at this, it was... do this, do that, never time for a reason. I took several courses and lots of reading to become, uh, less dangerous. I am still dangerous!!!

This is what I do now. I enjoy helping people with problems, troubleshooting anything to do with a computer. Today I work as a technical support agent. Somedays I feel like I have telephone ear!!!

Wishing you could tell me about yourself!!!

But you can, please leave a message in my guest book at the front door!!!
