still December 15th

Okay, I remembered that IE has this notorious memory leak, so I shut down all running copies of it , looked at the disk stats in "My Computer," and it said I had a whopping 13.3MB free. This after I freed up 30MB just a couple hours ago. Something fishy going on here... didn't take long to figure it out, I'm running IE 4.0 with the shell integration, so IE is, effectively, *always* running. And it's been running since I got home Saturday evening. So... I rebooted, and now I have 153MB free on drive C: Imagine that!

I tell you, if Win98 (if it ever gets out, with all this legal stuff going on) had better fix that stupid memory leak; it's been an issue in IE as long as I can remember!

I guess if this becomes a regular problem, I'm going to have to uninstall the shell integration part of IE 4.0, and I'd miss that. I like having the button bar on my taskbar, and Favorites accessible from the start menu. Jevim didn't have the integration turned on, on his system though, so I guess I can live without it.

Okay, enough of the geek tragedies here... Mom got up and Munchie came down the hall with her and hopped up on my monitor for a bit. Not much in the way of affectionate this morning, but at least she did come pay me a visit. I think she comes more for the heated sleeping perch than for me though, at times. Jevim was telling me about a Dilbert cartoon the other day, where Catbert calls Dilbert's monitor an "excellent butt-warming device." *chuckle*

I guess I need to go get dressed and ready to do things, need to go to the bank today and get some other things taken care of. Maybe I can get to the library and see if they still need volunteers for the computer lab, too. I need to do something useful with myself.

I've also decided to revamp the layout of my entry pages a bit, but I'd better not get started on that for now or I'll never get dressed! Mom's making her morning coffee, so she'll probably be dressed and ready to do things in about an hour or so.
