I'm not really sure where to start, since I hven't done a real entry since Jev got here, and here it is, just two days before he goes home.
We've been keeping busy most days, going different places in and around the Twin Cities, and spending one or two days just resting up from the running around.
Jev has been spending some of his money, spoiling himself, and spoiling me, too. His big gift to himself was a digital camera, which we both love, and his gift to me (early Christmas present) was a sapphire necklace. I really wasn't expecting him to buy it at the drop of a smile, but when he saw that I liked it, he said, "come take my money" to the jeweler. *chuckle* Silly boy... second time that day he'd used that line.
A lot of our time out and about has been spent at the Mall of Americal, or MOA for short. Jev noticed the Nascar Silicon Raceway on our first visit there; it's a simulated stock car race, where each driver has their own actual car that's up on hydraulics to make it move, and projection screens around front and sides to show the racetrack and the cars of other human and computer racers. His most recent race was a special 60-lap competition that ran at 10:30 this morning, and while he didn't get off to a very good start (one other driver hit him several times in succession), he posted his best lap time yet, and I think his best top speed, as well. The raceway at MoA was the first of its kind, but due to its popularity, more are being put in, in various malls across the country. I have the feeling Jev will be quite happy when they get one in the D.C. area.
After this morning's race, and lunch with the girls at the food court, we went shopping for a bit, then went to see The Avengers (cute movie, but kinda short), and then went on the log ride and the carousel in Camp Snoopy inside the mall. After the rides, I was pretty worn out, and we went to meet up with the girls' mom again and head home.
Jev had bought the Star Wars edition of Trivial Pursuit at the mall, and we spent most the rest of the evening playing that against the girls. It was a long, drawn out game, but we won in the end.
After running around so much today, I think I may just want to take it easy again tomorrow. But since it will be Jev's last full day here, I think I will try to get out and do something in the afternoon and evening, if nothing else.
There's lots more to tell, but it's late, and Jev is waiting for me to curl up with him and go to sleep, so I'll type this up later.
