8:35 AM
Jevim was suppposed to call around 8:30 his time last night, or so I thought. So when I realized it was 8:30 my time, I started looking for the slip of paper with his number, which turned up missing. I was about to hop online to look for the number when the phone rang. It was Jev, of course.
His second flight had also been delayed a bit, so he'd just gotten home and settled in for the night before giving me a call. We talked for half an hour or so about nothing much, while the girls chattered on around me. He said something about us having to be apart, and when I told him it would only be nine more months, he teasingly asked if there was something I hadn't told him. I certainly hope not! *chuckle* Anyway, we talked a little longer, then said our goodnights and goodbyes.
Once I was off the phone, I came back upstairs and started typing in journal entries from my new Pooh notebook (something Jev bought for me at the Disney Store), but I got sidetracked hunting down Windows desktop themes and chatting online with friends. After I hopped offline, I played a little solitaire, went downstairs to take out my contacts, then came back up and crashed.
While Jev was here, we only had a twin bed to share, so sleeping arrangements weren't all that comfortable. We've shared a twin bed many a time, and so we managed. I'm sure we could have found a somewhat more comfortable arrangement, but we wanted to be together, and have some privacy too, so that was the way to go. Anyway, I slept like a baby; I usually have trouble falling asleep, but not this time, and I slept through most all of the morning routine noises here, while the girls got ready for work and school. Willa was just about to leave with her friend Kathy to go to the casino, and Deanna is just about ready for school, so I'll have the house to myself at least until noon. Good timing, actually, because I'm about out of clean clothes and in dire need of doing laundry. So today is clean-up day for me.
Jev said last night that he'll probably move back to school tomorrow, so he's most likely doing laundry and getting packed today, too. Once he's back at school and online, he says he'll send me the pictures I want from the digital camera, so I'll have those to add to my journal. But I probably won't have time for that until next week, when I get back home.
Why is that? Well, yeah, I don't get much computer time here, but the real deal is, it looks like we're gonna drive to Mount Rushmore this weekend. Friday is Michelle's birthday (25th!), and she's decided she wants to see the monument. It's a pretty long drive, or so I'm told, so we're leaving Friday afternoon, and should get back Sunday evening. Monday night, I'll hop on a bus back home, and Tuesday morning or midday, I'll be getting home and settling back in. So I'm going to be a busy girl for a few days here.
For reasons unknown to me, I seem to have been adopted by one of the girls' two collies. A few days ago, he laid down beside me on the sofa, put his head in my lap, and went to sleep. Now a few times since then, he's been in my room and slept beside my bed, which is where he was this morning. Mulder (the collie) is a real sweetie, and not at all a brat like his spoiled little brother Navar, who has a real (gross) drooling problem... and a chewing habit.
I think I've babbled enough for now, so I'm off to start the laundry.
