I'm baaaa-aaaack!
My bus ride home was pretty uneventful. The bust from Minnapolis to Kansas City was pretty full, but my seatmate got off in Des Moines, Iowa, around 1 AM and no one took his place, so I was able to lie down on my side and sleep a bit. With the bulge on my back from scoliosis, reclining in an airline-type seat is not at all comfortable, so I was glad for the empty adjacent seat. I had managed to drift off to sleep for an hour or so, sitting up, but for some reason, my seatmate put his hand on my shoulder, then on my face to wake me up and tell me we were coming up on a stop. *grumble* I'd told him at the outset I was taking the bus to the end of the line. Anyway, I woke up about 20 minutes before we got into KC, and got my things together.
The second bus, from KC to St. Louis, with a stop in Columbia, was overbooked, so after I'd gotten on board, the driver asked how many of us were going to Columbia, and we were transferred to an empty bus for the two hour trip. I slept a bit more, and read some of my book, and Mom was waiting for me at the little depot when we got in. I'd had to borrow a second suitcase from the girls for all my stsuff, so we got someone to help us get my bags in the car, and headed home.
I was pretty lazy the rest of the day yesterday, but I did manage to get unpacked and put some of my stuff away. I was tired, but I really wasn't sleepy, so I just took it easy and then went to bed early last night to catch up on a bit of sleep. I caught up with a few online friends before bed of course, and talked to Jev, too.
This morning, I woke up in time to catch him again before class, then I had a leisurely bath and got ready to go take care of bills, medicaid paperwork, and the likes, and have lunch at the Chinese buffet.
We got back home around 1:30 and I proceded to tear the computer apart to install more RAM (courtesy of Jev) and then I reattached my ZIP drive and drawing tablet. I hopped online once it was all back together, and Jev showed up to chat for a bit before he went out with Emma for some exercise. He'd mentioned he got a new 'running outfit' and the shorts are shorter than he's accustomed to, so I teased him and told him to put his new camera to use and show me. *grin*
When we talked this morning, he'd hinted that I should get busy and update my site. I'd checked the other day (Monday, mid-day) when we were chatting, and my hit counter was at 2002, and now he says it's at 2013 and that I must have a following. *chuckle* So, for all you followers, I'm going to hunt down the right disk and get working on an update.
