A Fresh Start

Feburary 15, 1998

I decided last night that this week was going to be different. Some time this morning, I made up a list of things I wanted to accomplish today, and while Jevim was out, I worked on the ones that involved being away from the computer.

We had chatted before I made my list, and I'd told him that I felt like I was so far behind in my classes, I didn't think I could catch up. He said if he dropped a class every time he felt that way, he'd probably only be taking one class per semester. He suggested I try and see what I can do with it, and so one of the things on my list was to work my way through studying the C++ chapter after the one I was about to finish up.

That's the only thing on my list that I didn't manage to complete, and not because I didn't try. I think I got about halfway through it though, and if I can make myself do that much each day, I may be able to catch up and get through the book. I'm going to try, at any rate. As for the Visual Basic class, if I happen to have time, I might try to tackle it. C++ is my first priority.

I got a surprise this evening while Jevim and I were chatting on IRC. Emma messaged me and asked if I would proofread an essay for her. I told her I would, and so she sent it to me. I only found 2 small errors which I told her about, and I told her I thought it was a good essay. She said it was for a trip to London, and I know she's wanted to go, so hopefully I'm not the only one who thinks highly of the essay.

Jevim and I chatted a bit while he did homework and I studied and took an hour off to watch the X-Files, then we played a few games of backgammon, hopped offline, and talked on the phone for just a few minutes before he headed off to read and go to sleep. It's only 11pm, so I'm going to hop back on IRC and see if any of my other friends are online and chat for a bit. If not, I think I may work some on the cross-stitch I started a week or so ago, then try to go to bed by midnight. Type to you later...
