Wish Me Luck!January 11, 1998Well, I went and did it.... after fixing the problems Casey mentioned in my site review, I decided to jump off the deep end and submit my page for Featured Site consideration. I don't know what they'll say, but I've got my fingers crossed! Jevim was online when I got up this morning -- it's always so nice to find him waiting there -- and we chatted and surfed together until about 1pm his time, when he finally headed out to food and to see if he could find any of his friends around. Since then, I've been busy submitting my site, and doing a little fixing up here and there. Hmm, ICQ just told me I had mail... from Jevim! "Fly-by e-mail" he called it ... going to see what he has to say. Seems he met up with Emma and helped her with her computer, then met up with Julia (whom I got to meet when I went to Tech with him over the summer). He says she has an engagement ring now (she's in a long distance relationship too), and asked if Jevim had given me one. *chuckle* Not yet.... not yet... but I'm hoping! It seems Julia is going to run him out to Wal-Mart, and then to Fazoli's for dinner (great fast, cheap italian food! The nearest one to me is at least 35 miles away *sigh). His dad won't let him keep the car at school (of course not, it would cost the price of a parking space, geeze!) and so he has to rely on friends or the buses to get anywhere... one reason he wasn't feeling too comfortable last night and wanted to get away. According to the message, Julia's getting a new computer in the next couple days, so he's going to help her set it up. I'm not sure if this was in trade for the trip to Fazoli's or not, but... *chuckle* I remember last spring, when I would call him, or chat with him, and even when I was there, people from his building would come and ask him for computer help. He gets annoyed with it, I know, but he usually does help, unless he has a good reason for saying no. At least he knows Julia will lend a hand (or set of wheels) at times, in exchange for his work. Anyway... I updated my Rings page (and added myself to another ring, though I never got an e-mail (and I double checked the address!) and the home link doesn't seem to take me to the right place. *sigh*), my Sign page for my guestbook, and fixed a missing closing center tag on the guestbook that someone had left and was throwing off other entries. Hopefully everything is ship shape now. If it's not, tell me, please, so I can fix it before my site gets reviewed! No, I didn't get any homework done... not surprising... and I haven't worked on fixing my other site, which I want to do... but if I get accepted by the Wellesley crew, I think it'll be worth the effort. Ii've had a good day, and even though Jevim says he probably won't be home til late (around 10 his time), I really don't mind. I watched ice skating on CBS earlier... Kurt Browning was about the only one I really got to see all of, since I tuned in late... wow, what a skater!!! With the winter olympics coming up fast, it seems there's more and more ice skating on the tube these days, and I won't complain... it's about the only sport I'll watch! I'm going to be bad and go try to finish up a game of Civilization II before Jevim gets back. TTYL!
