Highly Productive

I think I did really well today! I got through a full chapter of C++, found my textbook for Visual Basic online (and books for Linux and a lot of other things). It's free and you can 'check out' a number of their computer-related books for 90 days to read online (HTML format), and decide if you want to buy a hard copy.

Besides that, I got through the first four hours of "Teach Yourself VB 5 in 24 hours" and had fun doing it, and did some experimenting with the software, writing the code to go with the forms and all, which I just wasn't getting the grasp of when I tried to learn the Borland C++ Builder (BCB) interface... might have helped if I'd known C++ to start with, hmm? But I have a little experience with Basic, so I'm not totally in the dark now.

I think once I'm done with the C++ class and the VB class, I'll be ready to dive into BCB and really do something! Getting excited, especially since Jevim said I could help build the interface for his internet backgammon client. I want to be ready!

I also got several rows of Jevim's afghan done... watched Jeopardy, and Babylon 5 this evening while I worked, and a bit of CMT this morning while waiting for VB Creation Control Edition to download. I've been busy, busy, busy today!

Even with all I got done, I did spend quite a bit of time online with Jevim as well... he had a 10 and an 11 am class, then came back to his room for lunch. We chatted a bit, then I went to take a bath while he grabbed a nap, chatted again for a while, and he ran off to be with friends for a while, while I worked and experimented with VB.... he installed Quake 2, then got pulled away to help Julia with her computer, and I kept working away... I had just finished up experimenting with the end-of-the-chapter exercises when he got back and was ready to play backgammon... I beat him finishing up our 7 point match, took him in a one point match, then he creamed me in the last one. *chuckle*

Yes, I know I'm rambling... it's almost one in the morning, and I'm hyper for some reason. At any rate, I'll quit for now. TTYL...
