12:30pm
Well, here it is half past noon, and I'm still not dressed. I spent most of themorning finishing up the fringe on Jev's afghan. The fringe itself was a bigger job than I'd expected, but now, seven months or so after I started it, the afghan is complete! Now if only I can get some of my other neglected projects finished!
Jev and I did go out to Pastalicious last night, and it was at least as good as I remembered. While we waited for our dinner,, we flipped through one of the local 'homes for sale' magazines, and .... well, they're not cheap! But I guess that was to be expected, looking for homes in the suburbs of the nation's capitol. Hopefully, when the time comes, we'll be able to afford a nice little place of our own.
After dinner, we went to CompUSA and looked around, and Jev bought a new K56flex modem. It's the same 56k technology my ISP supports, and so I was curious as to how well it would perform. Web surfing was nice, with images loading fast, and the one download was nice and fast, too.
Grrr, I keep trying to boot the computer into Win95, but it keeps locking up! Jev said he had conflicts getting the modem to work last night, but it did finally boot. Now, though.... *sigh* One more thing to try, but if that doesn't tell me what the problem is, Jev will have to take a look at it this evening. ... Cute, now I'm getting akeyboard i/o error, too. I think I'll quit before I really break something! So much for working on the site restructuring today; I think it's time to get dressed and go get lunch.
1:45PM
I decided to tackle the computer again after lunch, but had no success. The keyboard error was just a matter of a loose cable, but the other problem is somewhat less obvious. I can boot into safe mode, or safe mode with network support, but every time I try to boot normally, it locks up. Just my luck, I guess. I was hoping I'd hear from Dreama or Karen of Open Pages / Diary-L today, and Karen of alt.cuddle, but I guess it will wait a bit longer.
I suppose before I join an adoption journal ring, I should write an entry about how it's affected me, but I really don't know where to begin. I guess I should just start at the beginning.
The adoption entry started out as part of this entry, but I decided it should stand on its own in my bio section, so you'll find it there.
Well, that's one thing I'd been avoiding doing for a few weeks now, but it wasn't as hard as I'd expected. It's only three; at least another couple hours til Jev gets home, so I guess I'll just read for a while. Type to you later...
