May Day May 1, 1998 Happy May Day! Okay, I confess. :) I've been inundated by URLs from ICQ for these cute little pages that people have put online to pass among friends; usually the same URL from three different people who pass them back and forth and all pass them to me. So I made my own page, sent all 3 of them the URL, and I just want to see how far it will go from there. *chuckle* What a devious mind, hmm? *grin* I'm in a really good mood this morning. I got a message from a friend from alt.cuddle who is going to be in the DC area while I'm there this summer, and not only is she going to be there, but some other people I know online will be there too and we're going to have a cuddle-in (a get together of a.c'ers, commonly known as cuddlers). :) *bounce* I can't wait!! Lessee... as of when this page was last updated, there are now return 39 days til the cuddle-in. As you may notice by the logo down in the bottom right corner, I had lots of fun yesterday! I found a wonderful Stained Glass tutorial for Paint Shop Pro, and I spent much of the afternoon playing with it. I created a pretty, not-so-little window (59k), and from that, I made the background set you see here (if you have images and have them turned on). I went on and played more with it but I still like this pattern better than the other one I did. Jev said he thinks the border is a little wide, and I do too, so I may go back and make it narrower, if I have a little more time today. Or maybe I'll save that for next week, or when I'm down at Connie's I was up til about 2:30 last night, getting the May Day page done, and then trying to get my stained glass page up for a friend to see. My ISP was being a pain and kept dumping me, so by time I got it up and was back online, she had gone to bed, as it was an hour later where she was. So I e-mailed her with the URL. (Hi Donna!) Yes, I'm bad today. I should probably get to packing, as Mom said we could go to Fazoli's for lunch, down in Columbia, and I'd like to stop at Michael's while we're there. Tonight I'll stay at Connies' parents, and then tomorrow I'll go with them down to Springfield, and stay with Connie for a few days. Mom went to some rummage sales this morning, and by time I woke up, she was back and had some dresses for me to try on. Both were too snug, where they probably wouldn't have been last year, so I told her to hang on to them and I'm hoping I can shed a few pounds over the summer. I really do need to get more exercise, as I've been having problems with my one foot swelling, which happens when I'm not active enough. I've been trying to sleep with my legs elevated, which seems to help, but I toss and turn and they don't stay elevated for long once I'm out. Maybe Connie and I can get out and move around some this weekend; Mom and I did earlier this week and my foot was better, for a few days. Sorry for being so all-over-the-place this morning. I guess I'm just really hyper about finally meeting all my online friends. Of all the people I've met on the net, I have only met two -- Jev and Emma -- face to face. This is going to be so fun!!!! I think the fact that the sun is out for the first time since Sunday also has something to do with my hyperactivity. But this is a good thing. *grin* Oh, silly me! I mentioned a new countdown on the main page, and that I'll be seeing Jev soon and meeting online friends after that. What I forgot to say is that I reserved my plane tickets yesterday! Only $118 on Southwest, as they had an "Internet Special". Boy was I glad that Jev decided to look for tickets yesterday morning, as last night at Midnight Pacific time was when the sale ended. I still could have bought tickets under $200, but I can't believe the price I got... direct flight and all! *bounce* *bounce Uh oh, I'm getting more hyper. Maybe I should stop. Was that long enough? *bounce* Sheesh, I can't believe I'm feeling so giddy and silly this morning. I haven't felt this good in a while. But I think I should probably use some of this energy to start getting packed, so I'll wrap this up. Have a great weekend!
