Strange Dreams

Such dreams I was having! Lost plane tickets and identification, failing kidneys and doctors who wouldn't help me... I wouldn't have minded sleeping a bit later, but with those sorts of dreams, I'll pass, thanks.

I did catch Jev last night; seems after he helped the friend with the computer, a couple other friends needed him for things, too. By time he got back to the dorm, he needed to start packing things (he's moving today, after his last final), and he hopped online when he stopped to take a break.

We chatted at least an hour or more, and he read my past few entries as I was putting them up. I wasn't sure what he'd think of Memory Lane, because I couldn't remember if I'd ever told him about Todd. He said I hadn't, but I got the impression he liked the comparison between himself and Todd, and he told me that he was indeed a defender of sorts in his grade school years.

He also told me about Anne, who was someone he grew rather close to in sixth grade. They signed up for seventh grade classes together, but by that fall, she had moved away. His counselor at school was able to look and see what had become of her, when she wasn't on the class lists anymore when he went back to school. I wonder if Todd ever asked what had happened to me...

Anyway, I poked through the Buckwalds at Four11.com's online white pages, but the only T. Buckwalds I could find were Tammi and Thomas. My guess is either he has an unlisted number, or that his parents divorced, and when his mom remarried, he took his stepfather's last name. Wherever he may be, I hope he's happy, and that he found someone special to share his life with.

It sounds like Connie is up for the day, so I'm off to spend some time with her...

Okay, so maybe she's not. I got a glass of kool-aid and my morning aspirin, and now I'm back.

Last night as Jev and I were just getting ready to hop out of chat, somone on AOL messaged me, saying she was a friend of Wendy's (Connie's twin sister). I said hi, and that I was just hopping offline. She said that was just what Wendy had asked her to come ask me to do. Wendy's computer was having major problems, and she needed to get Connie on the phone -- and of course I was tying up the line.

Jev and I said our goodbyes (I forgot to wish him good luck on his last final, but I'm sure he'll do just fine without that), and I got his parents' phone number from him and then hopped offline.

Wendy called, and with me serving as semi-useful tech support, we got her computer completely reformatted and reinstalled. After that was all taken care of, Connie and I watched television for a bit, I worked some more on my cross stitch, and I headed off to bed a bit before Teresa called for Connie.

I don't think Connie has to work until four this afternoon, but I'm not sure yet if she wants to do anything this morning.....

Well, judging by the kind of phone conversation she had with Teresa last night... we may not be doing much. Not that I mind, as I'm feeling rather lazy, myself.

As I suspected, we didn't do anything today but watch TV. I tinkered in Paint Shop Pro for a bit, sizing and editing some graphics, since Connie had scanned a photo for me, and I wanted to add a bit more on my progress snapshot of the cross stitch I'm working on. I quit tinkering after about twenty minutes or so, realizing I could take care of that after Connie had gone, and went out and watched TV with her and worked more on my stitching. I'm coming along nicely, but I sure wish I had all the rocks I'm working on done, so I can let myself work on the dragon's tail. I'm getting there, it's just a slow process.

I don't remember when Jev said his last final was, but I imagine he won't be home and unpacked until sometime this evening. I'll probably try to call him around eight or nine, and just maybe his sister won't be there yet and I'll get to talk to him for a bit. Come Saturday, he'll be heading off to Maryland, and Monday it will be back to work. Just one month til I fly out to spend time with him... can I bounce now? I'm really looking forward to it.
