THE SERIOUS STUFF
Well, I promised you some serious stuff. The truth is, the "phunny" (apologies to the prof) stuff is much easier to do, and most of you will only know that side of me. I don't even know where to begin ..... there are many issues which are important to me:
- I am a South African with a deep love for my country, and believe that I am privileged to live here, in this place and time
- I work in a museum, where I am exposed to a number of exciting and challenging cultural issues
- I have strong feelings about cruelty and abuse, including all forms of bigotry
- I believe very deeply in social rights and responsibilities
- I have a love for literature, which I wish I spent more time indulging
I'd like to use this section of my site to explore this side of who I am. Many of you will prefer the lighter pages, and that is just fine. For those of you who would like to stay, you are very welcome.

I am currently grappling (well, beginning to grapple) with the issue of human remains in museums - the ethics which should govern their collection and display. Our museum has a great many examples of human remains, from a mummy to archaeologically-recovered pot burials. Do you have any feelings on this matter?
