Pressed Flowers
Promises Kept
To Begin Again
Stars
Sun
Tempest
The sun gave way to the darkness
As the young woman stood and cried
Old tears from old eyes
And as the stars began to twinkle
The young woman stood and cried
Old tears from old eyes.
Even though she knew
The sun would shine upon the moors again
And she knew the night
Would drape it's silky veil over the heather
The truth remained that she
Would be waiting for a ship
Which would never return home.
She stood there, looking out
Upon the sea, for a long time
Until the sun started to rise
And the pain began
Then she turned away
To await the arrival of
Her unborn child.
And still the young woman cried
Old tears from old eyes.
