September 15th - to Sudbury, Ont.
The guidebook and ads steer me to Wawa's giant goose sculpture! It is the most photographed structure in Canada I'm told, so I add my pictures to the mix. We are overlooking part of Lake Superior, but at the viewpoints, all is covered by cloud. |

Wawa Goose |
The road ribbons through farmland
spotted with cows and hay. The trees are starting to turn
red and yellow, but it is just the beginning of their
flambouyant show. There are old barns leaning toward the
earth, and old houses with blank windows. They speak of
work and hopes and families raised in past ages.
Sometimes the road is higher than the tree tops and I
look over a sea of greens. At one of my stops on the road to Marie's in Sudbury, I am enthusiastically greeted by a new friend, Gordie.(the basset, not the moose!) |
Of course, I get lost in Sudbury!
Marie, another CNWE sister, comes and meets me at a mall,
and it turns out I'm not all that far off the track.
Again, I enjoy hospitality so lovingly offered. <--- Marie - hard at work in her home office |
