October 2 - Montreal to Mattawa, Ontario

My "Guardian Angels" got me on the right road again...."East Coast" Barbara even driving the route after our dinner to see how it went. The rain came, heavily at times, and the traffic even heavier, but we got on the right road and headed west.

City driving has become a symbol for me! The extreme relief and delight I feel when I find the road I need; the uncertainty and near panic of being lost; the desire to stay on a road once I've found it, even when it's usefulness is finished. These "heart feelings" stay with me, even now on a wide open road through beautiful Northern Ontario. The next time I feel "lost" I'll remember that people help, I have a map, the road I need becomes clear, and eventually I reach my goal.

The TransCanada travels along the beautiful Ottawa River.

Between Montreal and North Bay the first snow had fallen. This is at one of the beautiful picnic sites along the route. There is more snow predicted for tonight, and I am very tired, so we will use a motel.
