- I am a 23 year old Swedish woman. I grew up in Sweden, mainly in Mora in Dalarna and in östersund in Jämtland. Since December 1997 I live in Michigan USA with my American husband. We are planning on moving to Sweden as soon as my husband has finished his education), so I can start mine. I'm telling you, being from different countries can sure be a pain!
I am a very reclusive soul. I prefer to be home to almost anything else! I choose my friends very carefully, because I just don't care to be friends with people who I don't find interesting and loving. The friends I have, I am very close to instead.
I am also very cynical. Do you think adopting a cyber pet does anything at all for the wellfare of animals? I certainly do not. I think it just makes you feel good to display a little banner on your site saying "Support the animals - adopt a cyber pet to show you care!", or something similar. Does adopting a cyber pet change anything in the life of a poorly treated animal? Certainly not! It just makes you feel good. Unfortunately a lot of this type of "support" goes on online, not just for animals. You people do not make a difference! (I am not against cyber pets, just the false image of "support" for animals some of those "agencies" claim.)
I love nature, Biology, plants, and animals with a passion. My special interest is plants and medicinal herbs. I love to take walks in the wild. I would love to do more hiking. I hope to be able to in the future. My favourite animal is the domestic cat. I have loved cats ever since I was 5 and we got the cat I grew up with. I am veryfond of most animals however and I would like to have a dog or two as well as several cats. The only animals I truly hate are spiders (ambivalently), wasps, mosquitoes, and toy poodles.
Other things that I love to occupy my mind with is reading, HTML, web design, animal rights, roleplaying (Warhammer, AD&D, Call of Cthulu, Cyberpunk, and so on), foreign cultures, and reading. I read almost everything except fact books. I don't usually read horror and detective stories either. I think reading is my favourite pasttime of all my hobbies.
I have a very large and wonderful family. Both my parents and my husband's parents are divorced, so I have four families instead of the normal two. Also, I am blessed with two siblings that I love dearly and my few but oh so wonderful friends! Here is my sister's site SALIKON . It is a newly started online magazine. Most of it is in Swedish so far, however. :)
We just had a change in our household! Its a good and bad change. Our Hamster, Bismarck, died. :( He was 2 years and 2 months old, so he was pretty old. We will miss him, he was with us for quite a while. On the good side is that we have taken over a parakeet from my brother-in-law! :) We have named her Lola after The Kinks' song. :) This is the first time I have "owned" a bird, so I am trying to learn fast! I am against keeping caged animals, but in this case it was better that we took her than leaving her with my brother-in-law who really wanted to get rid of her. We are both very excited about having a bird and hope it will be a positive experience. Now our small household consists of Rod, me, Hannibal (the cat), Lola, and two aquariums.
Things I hate
- Cyber Adoptions claiming to be "causes".
- Pages with bgcolor set to the same as the textcolor.
- More to come... *S*
Well, that's all for now. I will certainly be changing the contents of this page some time soon, so come back and find out more! And don't forget to look for the entrance to my secret attic, which is where you'll find out a lot more interesting things about me....... But I haven't furnished it yet, the door is still locked, but do come back later to see if you can find the hidden door!
