I met Raymond on the internet, on RSVP. Actually he wrote to me, and I decided he sounded nice enough to write back to. We exchanged e-mails for a month. Then after my depressing birthday last January, he took me out to a movie, 'Practical Magic'.
I was a bit shocked when I first saw him...looked different to his picture he sent me. But I decided it was worth finding out more about him. And boy was it worth it!!!
After seeing him for three weeks I agreed to be his girlfriend. At the time, I was helping my best friend, Lavinia with her wedding plans as I was to be her Maid of Honour. Ray would ask me about what I would have at my own wedding, so I would cheekily reply 'what makes you think you'll have any say'.
On the 18th March, 1999, Ray came over to my place (I live with my parents and two brothers). For the past week he had been hinting at that he need to ask me a serious question sometime around July. Of course I knew he what it was about. But I wasn't expecting him to ask me in my bedroom that night. Of course I said yes!
